Steering wheel touch sensor

Diagnosis condition When engine is running
Signal (terminal) LIN communication signal
Threshold Signal can’t receive signal from steering wheel touch sensor normally
Diagnosis delay time 2 seconds or more

POSSIBLE CAUSE

  • Harness or connector between ADAS control unit 2 and steering wheel touch sensor

  • Spiral cable

  • LIN unsent of steering wheel touch sensor

  • ADAS control unit 2

FAIL-SAFE

The following system are cancelled.

  • Vehicle-to-vehicle distance control mode

  • Steering wheel assistance function

  • Conventional (fixed speed) cruise control mode

  • FEB

  • RAB

  • PFCW

  • LDP

  • Blind Spot Intervention

  • TSR

  • DAA

CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE

PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE

  1. Start the engine, and then wait for 2 seconds or more.

  2. Perform “All DTC Reading” with CONSULT.

  3. Check if the “C1F80-88” is detected as the current malfunction in self-diagnosis results of “ICC/ADAS 2”.

Is “C1F80-88” detected as the current malfunction?

YES>>

Refer to DTC Diagnosis Procedure.

NO-1>>

To check malfunction symptom before repair: Refer to Intermittent Incident.

NO-2>>

Confirmation after repair: INSPECTION END

FAIL-SAFE

The following system are cancelled.

  • Lane keep function*1

  • Lane keep function*2

  • Lane change support function

  • Overtaking support function

  • Route driving support function

*1: ProPILOT Assist 2.1 display is green

*2: ProPILOT Assist 2.1 display is blue

CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE

PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE

  1. Start the engine, and then wait for 2 seconds or more.

  2. Perform “All DTC Reading” with CONSULT.

  3. Check if the “C1F80-88” is detected as the current malfunction in self-diagnosis results of “ICC/ADAS 2”.

Is “C1F80-88” detected as the current malfunction?

YES>>

Refer to DTC Diagnosis Procedure.

NO-1>>

To check malfunction symptom before repair: Refer to Intermittent Incident.

NO-2>>

Confirmation after repair: INSPECTION END

DTC Diagnosis Procedure

CHECK HARNESS BETWEEN ADAS CONTROL UNIT 2 AND SPIRAL CABLE

  1. Turn ignition switch OFF.

  2. Disconnect the ADAS control unit 2 connector and the spiral cable connector.

  3. Check continuity between ADAS control unit 2 harness connector and the spiral cable harness connector

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

GO TO 2.

NO>>

Repair the harnesses or connectors.

CHECK SPIRAL CABLE

  1. Disconnect the connector of spiral cable connector.

  2. Check for continuity between the spiral cable terminals.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

GO TO 3.

NO>>

Replace spiral cable. Refer to Removal and Installation.

REPLACE STEERING WHEEL

  1. Replace steering wheel. Refer to Removal and Installation.

  2. Perform confirmation procedure again. Refer to DTC Description (Without ProPILOT Assist 2.1) or DTC Description (With ProPILOT Assist 2.1).

Is “C1F80-88” detected as the current malfunction?

YES>>

Replace the ADAS control unit 2. Refer to Removal and Installation.

NO>>

INSPECTION END
