Heated Steering Wheel System

Heated Steering Wheel

  • Maintains the surface temperature of the steering wheel between 68°F (20°C) and 86°F (30°C).

  • Heat is generated by the heating element built in the steering wheel, and the temperature is controlled with the thermostat

  • Heating element (1) and thermostat (2) built into the steering wheel.

  • Heating element: Generates heat by energization.

  • Thermostat: Turns ON/OFF power supply according to the specified temperature.

Heated Steering Wheel Switch

FUNCTIONS WITHIN THE SYSTEM

  • When the heated steering wheel switch is pressed, the heated steering wheel system is alternatively active or inactive.

  • An ON / OFF signal of heated steering wheel switch is transmitted to A/C amp.

  • The heated steering wheel switch is included in the A/C switch assembly.

Heated Steering Wheel Relay

  • Through the control of the A/C amp., the heated steering wheel relay turns ON/OFF electricity to the heating element built-in the steering wheel and turns ON/OFF the indicator lamp mounted on the heated steering wheel switch.

  • The relays used in the heated steering wheel relay are normal open relays.

  • The heated steering wheel relay is located behind the A/C switch assembly.

A/C Auto Amp.

  • The A/C auto amp. is installed to the blower unit assembly.

  • A/C auto amp. turns ON/OFF the heated steering wheel relay, according to the heated steering wheel switch signal transmitted from the heated steering wheel switch.

  • Timer: Turns ON/OFF the heated steering wheel relay for a specified time.

  • The A/C amp. has a built-in timer that turns OFF the heated steering wheel relay when the operating time reaches 30 minutes.
