System Description

SYSTEM DIAGRAM

^*: With automatic back door system

The Intelligent Key has the same functions as the remote control entry function. Therefore, it can be used in the same manner as the remote controller by operating the door lock/unlock button.

Remote keyless entry function controls operation function of the following items.

• Door lock and unlock function (Intelligent Key)

• Selective unlock function (Intelligent Key)

• Reminder function (Intelligent Key)

• Auto door lock function (Intelligent Key)

• Automatic back door open/close function

• Panic alarm

• Remote engine start function

DOOR LOCK AND UNLOCK FUNCTION (INTELLIGENT KEY)

Operation Description

• When door lock/unlock button of the Intelligent Key is pressed, lock signal or unlock signal is transmitted from Intelligent Key to Intelligent Key unit via remote keyless entry receiver.

• Intelligent Key unit receives the signal and compares it with the registered key ID to the Nissan Ariya vehicle.

• If the verification result is OK, Intelligent Key unit transmits the door lock/unlock request signal to BCM via CAN communication.

• BCM transmits door lock/unlock signal to each door lock actuator, activates each door lock actuator.

Operation Condition

If the following condition is satisfied, door lock and unlock operation is performed if the Intelligent Key button is pressed.

SELECTIVE UNLOCK FUNCTION (INTELLIGENT KEY)

NOTE:

When "Approach Unlock" in "Vehicle Settings" of "combination meter" is [ON], selective unlock function cannot operate.

Lock Operation

When lock signal is sent from Intelligent Key, all doors are locked.

Unlock Operation

When unlock signal from Intelligent Key is transmitted, front door LH is unlocked. When unlock signal is transmitted from Intelligent Key within 60 seconds again, all doors are unlocked.

REMINDER FUNCTION (INTELLIGENT KEY)

Operation Description

When doors are locked or unlocked by Intelligent Key button operation, BCM blinks hazard warning lamps as a reminder and transmits horn request signal to IPDM E/R via CAN communication. The reminder function has C mode and S mode.

*: Work support mode [Intelligent Key system answer back function setting] setting is "On"

Operation Condition

When any door is open, reminder function does not operate according to door lock operation.

How to Change Reminder Function Operation Mode

• Reminder function operation mode can be changed using combination meter setting.

• When lock and unlock signal are sent from the Intelligent Key for more than 4 seconds at the same time, the hazard and buzzer reminder mode is changed and hazard warning lamp blinks and horn sounds as per the following items:

  

APPROACH UNLOCK/WALK AWAY LOCK FUNCTION

Approach unlock/walk away lock funciton control the following operaiton function items:

• Door lock and unlock function

• Reminder function

• Auto door lock function

DOOR LOCK AND UNLOCK FUNCTION

When carrying the Intelligent Key, the door can be unlocked when approaching the vehicle and the doors can be locked when walking away from the Nissan Ariya vehicle.

NOTE:

• Since it is OFF at the time of shipment from the factory, turn it ON with "Nissan Ariya Vehicle Settings" of the meter when using it.

• When "Selective Unlock" in "Vehicle Settings" of "combination meter" is [ON], approach unlock funciton cannot operate.

OPERATION DESCRIPTION (APPROACH UNLOCK)

• The Intelligent Key unit transmits the key ID signal if the Intelligent Key enters the approach unlock operating range.

• The Intelligent Key unit receives the key ID signal and collate it with the registered key ID in the Nissan Ariya vehicle.

• When the key ID match, the Intelligent Key unit transmits the door lock/unlock request signal to the BCM.

• When the BCM receives door lock/unlock request signal from the Intelligent Key unit, all doors are unlocked.

OPERATION DESCRIPTION (WALK AWAY LOCK)

• When the Intelligent Key unit detects that the Intelligent Key has been taken out of the walk away lock operating range, the key ID signal transmits to the Intelligent Key unit.

• The Intelligent Key unit receives the key ID signal and collates it with the registered key ID in the Nissan Ariya vehicle.

• When the key ID match, the Intelligent Key unit transmits the door lock/unlock request signal to the BCM.

• When the BCM receives door lock/unlock request signal from the Intelligent Key unit, all doors are locked.

OPERATION CONDITION

Approach unlock/walk away lock will operate when all of the follwing operating conditions are satisfied:

APPROACH UNLOCK OPERATING RANGE

Operating range of approach unlock function is approximately 1 m (39.37 in) around the vehicle (1). However this operating range may change depending on the surrounding conditions.

WALK AWAY LOCK OPERATING RANGE

Operating range of walk away lock function is approximately 2 m (78.74 in) around the vehicle (1). However this operating range may change depending on the surrounding conditions.

REMINDER FUNCTION

When doors are locked or unlocked by approach unlock/walk away lock function, BCM blinks hazard warning lamps as a reminder.

AUTO DOOR LOCK FUNCTION (INTELLIGENT KEY)

After door is unlocked by Intelligent Key button operation and if 60 seconds or more passes without performing the following operation, all doors are automatically locked. However, operation check function does not activate.

AUTOMATIC BACK DOOR OPEN/CLOSE FUNCTION

When back door open button is pressed, back door open automatically for detailed description.

PANIC ALARM

When panic alarm button is pressed, horn sounds and headlamp blinks.

REMOTE ENGINE START FUNCTION

When remote engine start button is pressed, engine can be started.

OPERATION AREA

To check that the Intelligent Key works normally, use within 1 m (3 ft.) range of each door, however the operable range may differ according to surroundings.
