Inhibit the idle start/stop system

DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE

PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE

CONSULT

  1. Start the engine and let it idle and wait for 1 second or more.

  2. Select “Self diagnosis result” mode of “Sub starter & generator”.

Is DTC detected?

YES>>

Refer to Diagnosis Procedure.

NO-1>>

To check malfunction symptom before repair: Refer to Intermittent Incident.

NO-2>>

Confirmation after repair: Inspection End.

Diagnosis Procedure

CHECK 12V BATTERY VOLTAGE

  1. Ignition switch OFF.

  2. Check the voltage between the 12V battery positive terminal and 12V battery negative terminal.

>>

GO TO 2.

CHECK FUSIBLE

  1. Ignition switch OFF.

  2. Check that the following fusible link is not blown (open):

    Signal name Fusible No. Capacity
    12V battery voltage 99 10 A

Is the fusible lnk blown (open)?

YES>>

Replace the blown (open) fuse after repairing the affected circuit if a fuse is blown (open).

NO>>

GO TO 3.

CHECK 12V BATTERY VOLTAGE SIGNAL

  1. Disconnect sub starter & generator connector.

  2. Check the voltage between the sub starter & generator harness connector and ground.

    (+) (-)

    Voltage

    (Approx.)
    Sub starter & generator
    Connector Terminal
    F126 3 Ground Battery voltage
  3. Check the continuity between the sub starter & generator harness connector and ground.

    (+) (-) Continuity
    Sub starter & generator
    Connector Terminal
    F126 5 Ground Yes

Is the difference between the voltage value assumed in step 2 and the voltage value measured in step 4, 0.8 V or more?

YES>>

Check power supply circuit.

NO>>

GO TO 4.

CHECK 12V BATTERY VOLTAGE

CONSULT

  1. Ignition switch ON.

  2. Select “BATTERY VOLTAGE” of “IPDM E/R” data monitor item.

  3. Check the value of “BATTERY VOLTAGE”.

    Monitor item Value
    BATTERY VOLTAGE 11 – 14 V

Is the difference between the voltage value assumed in step 2 and the voltage value measured in step 5, 0.8 V or more?

YES>>

GO TO 5.

NO>>

Replace sub starter & generator. Refer to Removal and Installation.

CHECK POWER SUPPLY AND GROUND CIRCUIT OF IPDM E/R

Check power supply and ground circuit of IPDM E/R. Refer to Diagnosis Procedure

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

Check intermittent incident. Refer to Intermittent Incident.

NO>>

Replace IPDM E/R. Refer to Removal and Installation.
