DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE
PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE
CONSULT

Start the engine and let it idle and wait for 1 second or more.
-
Select “Self diagnosis result” mode of “Sub starter & generator”.
Is DTC detected?
YES>>Refer to Diagnosis Procedure.
NO-1>>To check malfunction symptom before repair: Refer to Intermittent Incident.
NO-2>>Confirmation after repair: Inspection End.
Diagnosis Procedure
CHECK 12V BATTERY VOLTAGE
-
Ignition switch OFF.
-
Check the voltage between the 12V battery positive terminal and 12V battery negative terminal.
>>
GO TO 2.
CHECK FUSIBLE
-
Ignition switch OFF.
-
Check that the following fusible link is not blown (open):
Signal name Fusible No. Capacity 12V battery voltage 99 10 A
Is the fusible lnk blown (open)?
YES>>Replace the blown (open) fuse after repairing the affected circuit if a fuse is blown (open).
NO>>GO TO 3.
CHECK 12V BATTERY VOLTAGE SIGNAL

Disconnect sub starter & generator connector.

Check the voltage between the sub starter & generator harness connector and ground.

(Approx.)Sub starter & generator Connector Terminal F126 3 Ground Battery voltage -
Check the continuity between the sub starter & generator harness connector and ground.
(+) (-) Continuity Sub starter & generator Connector Terminal F126 5 Ground Yes
Is the difference between the voltage value assumed in step 2 and the voltage value measured in step 4, 0.8 V or more?
YES>>Check power supply circuit.
NO>>GO TO 4.
CHECK 12V BATTERY VOLTAGE
CONSULT
-
Ignition switch ON.
-
Select “BATTERY VOLTAGE” of “IPDM E/R” data monitor item.
-
Check the value of “BATTERY VOLTAGE”.
Monitor item Value BATTERY VOLTAGE 11 – 14 V
Is the difference between the voltage value assumed in step 2 and the voltage value measured in step 5, 0.8 V or more?
YES>>GO TO 5.
NO>>Replace sub starter & generator. Refer to Removal and Installation.
CHECK POWER SUPPLY AND GROUND CIRCUIT OF IPDM E/R
Check power supply and ground circuit of IPDM E/R. Refer to Diagnosis Procedure
Is the inspection result normal?
YES>>Check intermittent incident. Refer to Intermittent Incident.
NO>>Replace IPDM E/R. Refer to Removal and Installation.

CHECK CONNECTOR
Turn the ignition switch OFF.
Disconnect the battery cable from the negative terminal.
Check the following terminals and connectors for damage, bend and loose connection (connector side and harness side).
