DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE
PRECONDITIONING
If DTC Confirmation Procedure has been previously conducted, always perform the following procedure before conducting the next test.

Turn ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds.
-
Turn ignition switch ON.
-
Turn ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds.
TESTING CONDITION:
-
Before performing the following procedure, confirm that battery voltage is more than 8 V at idle.
-
Before performing the following procedure, check that the engine coolant temperature is −10°C (14°F) or more.
>>
GO TO 2.
PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE-1

Start the engine.
-
Let engine idle for 60 seconds.
-
Check the DTC.
Is the DTC detected?
YES>>Proceed to DTC Diagnosis Procedure.
NO-1>>To check malfunction symptom before repair: Refer to Intermittent Incident.
NO-2>>Confirmation after repair: INSPECTION END
DTC Diagnosis Procedure
CHECK FPCM POWER SUPPLY
-
Ignition switch OFF
-
Disconnect FPCM harness connector.
-
Ignition switch ON.
-
Check the voltage between FPCM harness connector and ground.
Connector Terminal ― Condition Voltage
(Approx.)B97 6 Ground For 1 second after turning ignition switch ON Battery Voltage More than 1 second after turning ignition switch ON 0V
Is the inspection result normal?
YES>>GO TO 2.
NO>>Perform the trouble diagnosis for power supply circuit.
CHECK FPCM GROUND CIRCUIT
-
Ignition switch OFF
-
Check the continuity between FPCM harness connector and ground.
Fuel level sensor unit, fuel pump and FPCM ― Continuity Connector Terminal B97 3 Ground Existed
Is the inspection result normal?
YES>>GO TO 3.
NO>>Repair or replace error-detected parts.
CHECK FPCM SIGNAL CIRCUIT

Ignition switch OFF
-
Disconnect FPCM harness connector and ECM connector.
-
Check the continuity between FPCM harness connector and ECM harness connector.
ECM Fuel level sensor unit, fuel pump and FPCM Continuity Connector Terminal Connector Terminal E21 138 B97 5 Existed 144 4 -
Also check harness for short to ground.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES>>GO TO 4.
NO>>Repair or replace error-detected parts.
REPLACE FUEL LEVEL SENSOR UNIT, FUEL PUMP AND FPCM

Replace Fuel level sensor unit, fuel pump and FPCM. Refer to Removal and Installation.
-
Perform DTC confirmation procedure again. Refer to DTC Description.
-
Check the DTC.
Is the DTC P025B displayed again?
YES>>GO TO 5.
NO>>INSPECTION END
REPLACE ECM
-
Replace ECM. Refer to ECM : Removal & Installation.
-
Perform DTC confirmation procedure again. Refer to DTC Description.
-
Check the DTC.
Is the DTC P025B displayed again?
YES>>Check intermittent incident. Refer to Intermittent Incident.
NO>>INSPECTION END
