Diagnosis Procedure
CHECK ELECTRICALLY-DRIVEN INTELLIGENT BRAKE UNIT Ignition switch ON POWER SUPPLY

Ignition switch OFF and disconnect CONSULT from data link connector.
-
Get out of the Nissan Ariya vehicle, close all doors (other than hood assembly), check that the combination meter is OFF, and wait for 1 minute or more without opening these doors.
CAUTION:
Never operate the Nissan Ariya vehicle.

Disconnect 12V battery cable from negative terminal.
-
Disconnect the Electrically-driven Intelligent Brake Unit harness connector.
-
Connect 12V battery cable to negative terminal.
-
Check the voltage between the Electrically-driven Intelligent Brake Unit harness connector and ground.
+ — Voltage Electrically-driven Intelligent Brake Unit Connector Terminal E61 20 Ground Approx. 0 V -
Ignition switch ON without depressing the brake pedal.
-
Check the voltage between the Electrically-driven Intelligent Brake Unit harness connector and ground.
+ — Voltage Electrically-driven Intelligent Brake Unit Connector Terminal E61 20 Ground 10 − 16 V
Is the inspection result normal?
YES>>GO TO 3.
NO>>GO TO 2.
CHECK ELECTRICALLY-DRIVEN INTELLIGENT BRAKE UNIT Ignition switch ON POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT

Ignition switch OFF and disconnect CONSULT from data link connector.

Get out of the Nissan Ariya vehicle, close all doors (other than hood assembly), check that the combination meter is OFF, and wait for 1 minute or more without opening these doors.
CAUTION:
Never operate the Nissan Ariya vehicle.

Disconnect 12V battery cable from negative terminal.
-
Check the 10A fuse (#55).
-
Disconnect fuse block (F/B) harness connector.
-
Check the continuity between Electrically-driven Intelligent Brake Unit harness connector and fuse block (J/B) harness connector.
Electrically-driven Intelligent Brake Unit Fuse block (F/B) Continuity Connector Terminal Connector Terminal E61 20 E28 11J Existed -
Check the continuity between Electrically-driven Intelligent Brake Unit harness connector and ground.
Electrically-driven Intelligent Brake Unit — Continuity Connector Terminal B63 20 Ground Not existed
Is the inspection result normal?
YES>>Perform trouble diagnosis for Ignition switch ON power supply.
NO>>Repair / replace harness, connector, or fuse.
CHECK ELECTRICALLY-DRIVEN INTELLIGENT BRAKE UNIT MOTOR POWER SUPPLY

Ignition switch OFF and disconnect CONSULT from data link connector.
-
Connect 12V battery cable to negative terminal.
-
Check the voltage between the Electrically-driven Intelligent Brake Unit harness connector and ground.
Electrically-driven Intelligent Brake Unit Voltage Connector Terminal + - E61 1 9 10 - 16 V -
Ignition switch ON without depressing the brake pedal.

Check the voltage between the Electrically-driven Intelligent Brake Unit harness connector and ground.
Electrically-driven Intelligent Brake Unit Voltage Connector Terminal + - E61 1 9 10 - 16 V
Is the inspection result normal?
YES>>GO TO 5.
NO>>GO TO 4.
CHECK ELECTRICALLY-DRIVEN INTELLIGENT BRAKE UNIT MOTOR POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT

Ignition switch OFF and disconnect CONSULT from data link connector.

Get out of the Nissan Ariya vehicle, close all doors (other than hood assembly), check that the combination meter is OFF, and wait for 1 minute or more without opening these doors.
CAUTION:
Never operate the Nissan Ariya vehicle.

Disconnect 12V battery cable from negative terminal.
-
Check the 30A fusible link (#O).
-
Check the continuity and for short circuit between harness connector terminal 1 of Electrically-driven Intelligent Brake Unit and 30A fusible link (#O).
Is the inspection result normal?
YES>>Perform trouble diagnosis for 12V battery power supply.
NO>>Repair / replace harness, connector, fuse, or fusible link.
CHECK BRAKE POWER SUPPLY BACKUP UNIT 12V BATTERY POWER SUPPLY

Ignition switch OFF and disconnect CONSULT from data link connector.

Get out of the Nissan Ariya vehicle, close all doors (other than hood assembly), check that the combination meter is OFF, and wait for 1 minute or more without opening these doors.
CAUTION:
Never operate the Nissan Ariya vehicle.

Disconnect 12V battery cable from negative terminal.
-
Disconnect brake power supply backup unit harness connector.
-
Connect 12V battery cable to negative terminal.
-
Check the voltage between brake power supply backup unit harness connector and ground.
+ — Voltage Brake power supply backup unit Connector Terminal B120 6 Ground 10 − 16 V -
Ignition switch ON without depressing the brake pedal.
-
Check the voltage between brake power supply backup unit harness connector and ground.
+ — Voltage Brake power supply backup unit Connector Terminal B120 6 Ground 10 − 16 V
Is the inspection result normal?
YES>>GO TO 7.
NO>>GO TO 6.
CHECK BRAKE POWER SUPPLY BACKUP UNIT 12V BATTERY POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT

Ignition switch OFF and disconnect CONSULT from data link connector.

Get out of the Nissan Ariya vehicle, close all doors (other than hood assembly), check that the combination meter is OFF, and wait for 1 minute or more without opening these doors.

Disconnect 12V battery cable from negative terminal.

Check the 10A fusible link (#55).
-
Check the continuity and for short circuit between harness connector terminal 6 of brake power supply backup unit and 10A fusible link (#55).
Is the inspection result normal?
YES>>Perform trouble diagnosis for 12V battery power supply.
NO>>Repair / replace harness, connector, or fusible link.
CHECK ELECTRICALLY-DRIVEN INTELLIGENT BRAKE UNIT GROUND
Check the continuity between Electrically-driven Intelligent Brake Unit harness connector and ground.

NO>>Repair / replace harness or connector.
CHECK TERMINAL

Check Electrically-driven Intelligent Brake Unit terminals for damage or loose connection with harness connector.

Check fuse block (J/B) terminals for damage or loose connection with harness connector.
-
Check brake power supply backup unit terminals for damage or loose connection with harness connector.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES>>Inspection End.
NO>>Repair / replace harness, connector, or terminal.
Other materials:
Removal/replacement of Rear Brake Pad or Rear Brake Caliper

When performing the following operations, always use
CONSULT, for performing “START BRAKE PAD REPLACEMENT”, “FINISH BRAKE PAD
REPLACEMENT”, “INITIALIZATION POSITION ADJUSTMENT” of “Work support”.

Disconnect 12V battery negative terminal.
Disconnect ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit) harness connector.
Connect 12V battery negative terminal.

Diagnosis Procedure
CHECK OUTPUT CIRCUIT
Ignition switch ON.
Turn ON any switch in the system that is malfunctioning.
Check duty ratios between BCM harness connector and ground by using an oscilloscope.
