Component Function Check

CAUTION:

Before performing the diagnosis, check that the following are normal:

  • Interior room lamp power supply circuit

  • Each interior room lamp bulb

CHECK MAP LAMP OPERATION

CONSULT

  1. Switch the map lamp switch to DOOR.

  2. Open the front door LH.

  3. Ignition switch ON.

  4. Select “Interior lamp” in "Active test" mode of "BCM".

  5. With operating the test item, check that the map lamp turns ON/OFF.

    ON : Map lamp turns ON
    OFF : Map lamp turns OFF

Does the map lamp turn ON/OFF?

YES>>

Map lamp control circuit is normal.

NO>>

Refer to Diagnosis Procedure.

Diagnosis Procedure

CHECK MAP LAMP CONTROL SIGNAL CIRCUIT 1

  1. Ignition switch OFF.

  2. Disconnect map lamp assembly connector.

  3. Ignition switch ON.

  4. Check continuity between BCM harness connector and ground.

    With type A meter
    BCM Condition Continuity
    Connector Terminal
    B124 131 Ground Front door LH Open Yes
    Close No
    With type B meter
    BCM Condition Continuity
    Connector Terminal
    B23 130 Ground Front door LH Open Yes
    Close No

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

GO TO 2.

NO-1>>

Continuity Yes and remains unchanged: GO TO 4.

NO-2>>

Continuity No and remains unchanged: Replace BCM. Refer to Removal and Installation.

CHECK MAP LAMP CONTROL SIGNAL CIRCUIT 2

  1. Ignition switch OFF.

  2. Disconnect BCM connector.

  3. Check continuity between BCM harness connector and map lamp assembly harness connector.

    With type A meter
    BCM Map lamp assembly Continuity
    Connector Terminal Connector Terminal
    B124 131 R6 4 Yes
    With type B meter
    BCM Map lamp assembly Continuity
    Connector Terminal Connector Terminal
    B23 130 R6 4 Yes

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

GO TO 3.

NO>>

Repair or replace harnesses.

CHECK MAP LAMP GROUND CIRCUIT

Check continuity between map lamp assembly harness connector and ground.

R6 2 Ground Yes

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

Replace corresponding map lamp bulb. Refer to Replacement.

NO>>

Repair or replace harnesses.

CHECK MAP LAMP CONTROL SIGNAL CIRCUIT 3

  1. Ignition switch OFF.

  2. Disconnect BCM connector.

  3. Check continuity between BCM harness connector and ground.

    With type A meter
    BCM Continuity
    Connector Terminal
    B124 131 Ground No
    With type B meter
    BCM Continuity
    Connector Terminal
    B23 130 Ground No

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

Replace BCM. Refer to Removal and Installation.

NO>>

Repair or replace harnesses.
