Component Function Check

CAUTION:

Before performing the diagnosis, check that the following are normal:

  • Interior room lamp power supply circuit

  • Map lamp control circuit

  • Each interior room lamp bulb

CHECK MAP LAMP OPERATION

  1. Switch the map lamp switch to DOOR.

  2. Check that the map lamp is turned ON when any door opens (except back door).

Is the inspection normal?

YES>>

GO TO 2.

NO>>

Check map lamp control circuit. Refer to Component Function Check.

CHECK ROOM LAMP OPERATION

CONSULT

  1. Switch the map lamp switch and room lamp switch to DOOR.

  2. Open the front door LH.

  3. Ignition switch ON.

  4. Select “Interior lamp” in "Active test" mode of "BCM".

  5. With operating the test item, check that the room lamp turns ON/OFF.

    ON : Room lamp turns ON
    OFF : Room lamp turns OFF

Does the room lamp turns ON/OFF?

YES>>

Room lamp control circuit is normal.

NO>>

Refer to Diagnosis Procedure.

Diagnosis Procedure

CHECK ROOM LAMP CONTROL CIRCUIT

  1. Ignition switch OFF.

  2. Disconnect map lamp assembly connector and room lamp connector.

  3. Check continuity between map lamp assembly harness connector and room lamp harness connector.

  4. Check continuity between room lamp harness connector and ground.

    R15 2 Ground No

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

GO TO 2.

NO>>

Repair or replace harnesses.

CHECK ROOM LAMP GROUND CIRCUIT

Check continuity between room lamp harness connector and ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

GO TO 3.

NO>>

Repair or replace harnesses.

CHECK MAP LAMP CIRCUIT

Check continuity between map lamp assembly terminals.

4 8 Map lamp switch is "DOOR" position Yes
Map lamp switch is "OFF" position No

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

Replace room lamp bulb. Refer to Replacement.

NO>>

Replace map lamp assembly. Refer to Removal and Installation.
