Component Function Check

CAUTION:

Before performing the diagnosis, check that the following are normal:

  • Interior room lamp power supply circuit

  • Luggage room lamp bulb

CHECK LUGGAGE ROOM LAMP OPERATION

CONSULT

  1. Ignition switch ON.

  2. Select “Trunk/luggage lamp” in "Active test" mode of "BCM".

  3. With operating the test item, check that the luggage room lamp turns ON/OFF.

    ON : Luggage room lamp ON
    OFF : Luggage room lamp OFF

Does luggage room lamp turn ON/OFF?

YES>>

Luggage room lamp control circuit is normal.

NO>>

Refer to Diagnosis Procedure.

Diagnosis Procedure

CHECK LUGGAGE ROOM LAMP CONTROL SIGNAL

CONSULT

  1. Ignition switch OFF.

  2. Disconnect luggage room lamp connector.

  3. Ignition switch ON.

  4. Select "Trunk/luggage lamp" in "Active test" mode of "BCM".

  5. With operating the test item, check continuity BCM harness connector and ground.

    With type A meter
    BCM (—) Test item Continuity
    Connector Terminal
    M51 21 Ground Trunk/luggage lamp ON Yes
    OFF No
    With type B meter
    BCM (—) Test item Continuity
    Connector Terminal
    M18 30 Ground Trunk/luggage lamp ON Yes
    OFF No

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

GO TO 2.

NO-1>>

Continuity exists and remains unchanged: GO TO 4.

NO-2>>

Continuity does not exist and remains unchanged: Replace BCM. Refer to Removal and Installation.

CHECK LUGGAGE ROOM LAMP CONTROL SIGNAL CIRCUIT 1

  1. Ignition switch OFF.

  2. Disconnect BCM connector.

  3. Check continuity between BCM harness connector and luggage room lamp harness connector.

    With type A meter
    BCM Luggage room lamp Continuity
    Connector Terminal Connector Terminal
    M51 21 R23 1 Yes
    With type B meter
    BCM Luggage room lamp Continuity
    Connector Terminal Connector Terminal
    M18 30 R23 1 Yes
  4. Check continuity between luggage room lamp harness connector and ground.

    Luggage room lamp (—) Continuity
    Connector Terminal
    R23 1 Ground No

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

GO TO 3.

NO>>

Repair or replace harnesses.

CHECK LUGGAGE ROOM LAMP GROUND CIRCUIT

Check continuity between luggage room lamp harness connector and ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

Replace luggage room lamp bulb. Refer to Replacement.

NO>>

Repair or replace harnesses.

CHECK LUGGAGE ROOM LAMP CONTROL SIGNAL CIRCUIT 2

  1. Ignition switch OFF.

  2. Disconnect BCM connector.

  3. Check continuity between BCM harness connector and ground.

    With type A meter
    BCM (—) Continuity
    Connector Terminal
    M51 21 Ground No
    With type B meter
    BCM (—) Continuity
    Connector Terminal
    M18 30 Ground No

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

Replace BCM. Refer to Removal and Installation.

NO>>

Repair or replace harnesses.
