Component Function Check

CAUTION:

Before performing the diagnosis, check that the following are normal:

  • Interior room lamp power supply circuit

  • Vanity mirror lamp bulb

CHECK VANITY MIRROR LAMP OPERATION

  1. Ignition switch ON.

  2. With operating the sun visor (vanity mirror lamp switch) check that the vanity mirror lamp is turned ON/OFF.

    Sun visor OPEN : Vanity mirror lamp ON
    Sun visor CLOSED : Vanity mirror lamp OFF

Does the vanity mirror lamp turn ON/OFF?

YES>>

Vanity mirror lamp control circuit is normal.

NO>>

Refer to Diagnosis Procedure.

Diagnosis Procedure

CHECK VANITY MIRROR LAMP POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT

  1. Ignition switch OFF.

  2. Disconnect sun visor LH (vanity mirror lamp switch) connector, sunvisor RH (vanity mirror lamp switch) connector, vanity mirror lamp LH connector and vanity mirror lamp RH connector.

  3. Check continuity between sun visor (vanity mirror lamp switch) harness connector and vanity mirror lamp harness connector.

  4. Check continuity between vanity mirror lamp harness connector and ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

GO TO 2.

NO>>

Repair or replace harness

CHECK VANITY MIRROR LAMP SWITCH

Check the vanity mirror lamp switch. Refer to Component Inspection.

YES>>

GO TO 3.

NO>>

Replace corresponding sun visor (vanity mirror lamp switch). Refer to Exploded View.

CHECK VANITY MIRROR LAMP GROUND CIRCUIT

Check continuity between vanity mirror lamp harness connector and ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

Replace corresponding vanity mirror lamp bulb. Refer to Replacement.

NO>>

Repair or replace harnesses.

Component Inspection

CHECK SUN VISOR (VANITY MIRROR LAMP SWITCH)

  1. Ignition switch OFF.

  2. Disconnect sun visor (vanity mirror lamp switch) connector.

  3. Check continuity between sun visor (vanity mirror lamp switch) terminals.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

Inspection End.

NO>>

Replace corresponding sun visor (vanity mirror lamp switch). Refer to Removal and Installation.
