Distance sensor

Diagnosis condition
  • When engine is running

  • When AEB system is ON

Signal (terminal)
Threshold Temperature detected by the temperature sensor integrated in distance sensor remains more than 105 °C (221 °F)
Diagnosis delay time 5 seconds or more

POSSIBLE CAUSE

Temperature around the distance sensor becomes extremely high

FAIL-SAFE

The following systems are canceled.

  • Vehicle-to-vehicle distance control mode

  • Conventional (fixed speed) cruise control mode

  • Steering wheel assistance function

  • AEB

  • I-FCW

CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE

PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE

  1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.

  2. Wait for 10 minutes or more.

  3. Start the engine.

  4. Turn the AEB system ON.

  5. Perform “All DTC Reading” with CONSULT.

  6. Check if the “C1F5F-4B” is detected as the current malfunction in “Self Diagnostic Result” of “ICC/ADAS 2”.

Is “C1F5F-4B” detected as the current malfunction?

YES>>

Refer to DTC Diagnosis Procedure.

NO-1>>

To check malfunction symptom before repair: Refer to Intermittent Incident.

NO-2>>

Confirmation after repair: INSPECTION END

Diagnosis delay time 1 second or less

POSSIBLE CAUSE

  • Temperature around the distance sensor becomes extremely high

  • ADAS control unit 2

FAIL-SAFE

The following systems are canceled.

  • Vehicle speed & vehicle-to-vehicle control function

  • Lane keep function*1

  • Lane keep function*2

  • Lane change support function

  • Overtaking support function

  • Route driving support function

  • FEB

  • PFCW

  • TSR

*1: ProPILOT Assist 2.1 display is green

*2: ProPILOT Assist 2.1 display is blue

CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE

PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE

  1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.

  2. Wait for 10 minutes or more to cool the distance sensor.

  3. Start the engine.

  4. Perform “All DTC Reading” with CONSULT.

  5. Check if the “C1F5F-4B” is detected as the current malfunction in “Self Diagnostic Result” of “ICC/ADAS 2”.

Is “C1F5F-4B” detected as the current malfunction?

YES>>

Refer to DTC Diagnosis Procedure.

NO-1>>

To check malfunction symptom before repair: Refer to Intermittent Incident.

NO-2>>

Confirmation after repair: INSPECTION END

DTC Diagnosis Procedure

CHECK ENGINE COOLING SYSTEM

Check for any malfunctions in engine cooling system.

Is engine cooling system normal?

YES>>

Replace the distance sensor. Refer to Removal and Installation.

NO>>

Repair engine cooling system.
