Description
Check anti-pinch function when the initialization of moonroof and sunshade system is performed. Refer to Work Procedure.
Work Procedure
CHECK ANTI-PINCH FUNCTION

Fully open the moonroof.

Place a piece of wood near the fully closed position.

Close the moonroof completely with auto-slide closed.
-
Check that moonroof lowers for approximately 5.91 in (150 mm) without pinching a piece of wood and stops.

Fully open the sunshade.
-
Place a piece of wood near fully closed position.
-
Close the sunshade completely with auto-slide closed.
-
Check that sunshade lowers for approximately 5.91 in (150 mm) without pinching a piece of wood and stops.
CAUTION:
-
Never check with hands or another part of the body because they may be pinched. never get pinched.

When the distance between pinching position and fully-open position is less than 5.91 in (150 mm), moonroof or sunshade reverses to fully-open position.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES>>End
NO>>Perform initialization procedure. Refer to Description.

Check that VDC OFF indicator lamp in combination meter turns ON for approximately 1 second after ignition switch is ON.
CAUTION:
Never start engine.
