Work Procedure

Description

When replacing the ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit), the procedures of BEFORE REPLACEMENT and AFTER REPLACEMENT must be performed.

BEFORE REPLACEMENT

When replacing the ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit), save “Operation log”.

AFTER REPLACEMENT

After replacing the ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit), the following items must be performed:

  • ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit) programming

  • ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit) configuration

  • Air bleeding of brake fluid

  • Adjust the neutral position of steering angle sensor

  • Calibration of the decel G sensor

  • Calibration of side G sensor

  • Adjustment of rear brake caliper initialization position

  • Change of system mode

  • Actual driving 3 km or more

NOTE:

Save the odmeter information of combination meter in ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit).

Work Procedure [Before Replace ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit)]

SAVE “OPERATION LOG”

CONSULT

Save “Operation Log”, according to the procedure of “Programming” in CONSULT Operation Manual.

NOTE:

ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit) part number is saved in “Operating Log” saved in CONSULT.

  • Replace the ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit). Refer to Removal and Installation.

  • After replacing the ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit), perform necessary work.

Work Procedure [After Replace ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit)]

CHECK “OPERATION LOG”

CONSULT

Check “Operation Log” saved before replacing the ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit), according to the procedure of “Programming” in CONSULT Operation Manual.

NOTE:

For the Nissan Ariya vehicle that the programming is to be performed, check if “Operation Log” of Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) is in Saved Data List.

Is there an applicable Operation Log in the Saved Data List?

YES>>

GO TO 2.

NO>>

GO TO 3.

PERFORM ABS ACTUATOR AND ELECTRIC UNIT (CONTROL UNIT) PROGRAMMING

CONSULT

Perform ABC actuator and electric unit (control unit) programming, according to “Programming” of CONSULT Operation Manual. Refer to CONSULT Operation Manual.

CAUTION:

During programming, maintain the following conditions:

  • Ignition switch: ON

  • Electric parking brake: Apply

  • Electric load: OFF

  • Brake pedal: Not depressed

  • 12V battery voltage: 12 – 13.5 V (Check the value displayed on the CONSULT screen.)

GO TO 5.

READ IN ABS ACTUATOR AND ELECTRIC UNIT (CONTROL UNIT) PART NUMBER BY “EPC LINKED”

Obtain ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit) part number by EPC (service parts catalog), according to the procedure of EPC linked in CONSULT Operation Manual. Refer to CONSULT Operation Manual.

CAUTION:

Be sue select “EPC linked”.

NOTE:

“EPC linked” allows an appropriate programming by obtaining ECU part number from EPC (service parts catalog) even when the part number cannot be obtained from the old ECU used before replacing with a new one.

GO TO 4.

PERFORM PROGRAMMING (EPC LINKED)

CONSULT

Perform ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit) programming according to the procedure of EPC linked in CONSULT Operation Manual. Refer to CONSULT Operation Manual.

CAUTION:

During programming, maintain the following conditions:

  • Ignition switch: ON

  • Electric parking brake: Apply

  • Electric load: OFF

  • Brake pedal: Not depressed

  • 12V battery voltage: 12 – 13.5 V (Check the value displayed on the CONSULT screen.)

GO TO 5.

PERFORM NECESSARY WORK

  1. Perform configuration. Refer to Description.

  2. Perform air bleeding. Refer to Bleeding Brake System.

  3. Perform adjustment of steering angle sensor neutral position. Refer to Description.

  4. Perform calibration of decel G sensor. Refer to Work Procedure.

  5. Calibration of side G sensor. Refer to Work Procedure.

  6. Adjustment of rear brake caliper initialization position. Refer to Work Procedure.

  7. Perform the change of system mode. Refer to Work Procedure.

  8. Perform self-diagnosis for “All DTC Reading”.

  9. Erase the memory of self-diagnosis results.
