DTC Description

DTC DETECTION LOGIC

DTC No. CONSULT screen terms DTC detected condition
U2340-87 CAN communication error (ECM) Diagnosis condition When ignition switch is ON.
Signal (terminal) CAN communication signal
Threshold Lost communication with ECM
Diagnosis delay time 4 seconds or more

POSSIBLE CAUSE

  • Harness or connector

    (CAN communication line)

  • 8CH CAN gateway

  • ECM malfunction

FAIL-SAFE

System continue normal control.

Confirmation Procedure

PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE

With CONSULT

  1. Ignition switch ON and wait at least 4 seconds or more.

  2. Select “Self Diagnostic Result” mode of “8ch CAN GATEWAY 2” using CONSULT.

  3. Check DTC.

Is DTC U2340-87 detected?

YES>>

Refer to DTC Diagnosis Procedure.

NO-1>>

To check malfunction symptom before repair: Intermittent Incident

NO-2>>

Confirmation after repair: INSPECTION END

DTC Diagnosis Procedure

PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE AGAIN

  1. Ignition switch ON.

  2. Erase DTC.

  3. Perform DTC confirmation procedure again. Refer to Confirmation Procedure.

  4. Check DTC.

Is DTC “U2340-87” detected?

YES>>

Perform trouble diagnosis procedure for CAN communication system. Refer to Trouble Diagnosis Flow Chart.

NO>>

INSPECTION END
