The heated steering wheel does not warm up.
-
The heated steering wheel system cannot be turned OFF.
Diagnosis Procedure
PERFORM SELF DIAGNOSTIC RESULT
CONSULT
-
Ignition switch ON.
-
Select “Self Diagnostic Result” mode of “HVAC”.
-
Check DTC.
Is DTC detected?
B24F4-12 is detected.>>Refer to Diagnosis Procedure.
B24F4-14 is detected.>>Refer to Diagnosis Procedure.
NO>>GO TO 2.
CHECK POWER SOURCE AND GROUND CIRCUIT
-
Ignition switch OFF.
-
Remove the heated steering wheel. Refer to Removal and Installation.
-
Ignition switch ON.
CAUTION:
Never start the engine.
-
Turn heated steering wheel switch ON.
-
Check voltage between spiral cable harness connector terminals.
Spiral cable Condition Voltage (Approx.) Connector Terminals M163 43 44 Within 30 seconds after turning ON the heated steering switch. Battery voltage Other conditions. 0 V
Is the inspection result normal?
YES>>GO TO 3.
NO>>GO TO 4.
CHECK HEATED STEERING WHEEL
Check heated steering wheel. Refer to Component Inspection (Heated Steering Wheel).
Is the inspection result normal?
YES>>Inspection End.
NO>>Replace heated steering wheel. Refer to Removal and Installation.
CHECK GROUND CIRCUIT
Check continuity between spiral cable harness connector terminal and ground.

Is the inspection result normal?
YES>>GO TO 5.
NO>>Repair or replace damaged parts.
CHECK HARNESS BETWEEN HEATED STEERING WHEEL RELAY AND SPIRAL CABLE

Ignition switch OFF.

Disconnect heated steering wheel relay connector. Refer to Component Parts Location.
-
Disconnect spiral cable connector.
-
Check continuity between heated steering wheel relay harness connector terminal and spiral cable harness connector terminal.
Heated steering wheel relay Spiral cable Continuity Connector Terminal Connector Terminal M95 5 M37 41 Yes -
Check continuity between heated steering wheel relay harness connector terminal and ground.
Heated steering wheel relay — Continuity Connector Terminal M95 5 Ground Yes
Is the inspection result normal?
YES>>GO TO 6.
NO>>Repair or replace damaged parts.
CHECK HEATED STEERING WHEEL RELAY
Check heated steering wheel relay. Refer to Component Inspection (Heated Steering Wheel Relay).
Is the inspection result normal?
YES>>GO TO 7.
NO>>Replace heated steering wheel relay. Refer to Component Parts Location.
DETECT MALFUNCTIONING ITEM
Check the following.
-
Battery
-
Harness for short or open between battery and fuse block (J/B).
-
10A fuse [No. 62 and 40, located in the fuse block (J/B)]. Refer to Wiring Diagram.

Fuse block (J/B)
Is the inspection result normal?
YES>>GO TO 8.
NO>>Repair or replace damaged parts.
CHECK HARNESS BETWEEN HEATED STEERING WHEEL RELAY AND A/C amp.

Check continuity between heated steering wheel relay harness connector terminal and A/C amp. harness connector terminal.
Heated steering wheel relay A/C amp. Continuity Connector Terminal Connector Terminal M95 2 M55 56 Yes -
Check continuity between heated steering wheel relay harness connector terminal and ground.
Heated steering wheel relay — Continuity Connector Terminal M95 2 Ground Yes
Is the inspection result normal?
YES>>GO TO 9.
NO>>Repair or replace damaged parts.
CHECK HARNESS BETWEEN A/C amp. AND A/C SWITCH ASSEMBLY

Check continuity between A/C amp. harness connector terminal and A/C switch assembly harness connector terminal.

Check continuity between A/C switch assembly harness connector terminal and ground.
A/C amp. — Continuity Connector Terminal M55 68 Ground Yes
Is the inspection result normal?
YES>>GO TO 10.
NO>>Repair or replace damaged parts.
CHECK HEATED STEERING WHEEL SWITCH
Check heated steering wheel switch. Refer to Heated Steering Wheel Switch.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES>>Repair or replace A/C amp.. Refer to Removal and Installation.
NO>>Replace A/C switch assembly. Refer to Removal and Installation.
