Nissan Rogue (T33) 2021-Present Owner’s Manual & User Guide: Seats
Basic information
WARNING
- Do not ride in a moving vehicle when the seatback is reclined.
The shoulder belt will not rest properly against your body, increasing the risk of neck or other serious injuries in an accident. You could also slide beneath the lap belt and suffer internal injuries.
- For maximum protection while the vehicle is in motion, always keep the seat upright. Sit well back with both feet on the floor and adjust the seat correctly.
- After making any adjustment, gently rock in the seat to ensure it is securely locked.
- Never leave children unattended inside the vehicle. They may accidentally operate switches or controls and could be involved in serious accidents.
- To avoid injury or death caused by unintentional operation of the vehicle or its systems, do not leave children, individuals needing assistance, or pets unattended in the vehicle.
Temperatures inside a closed Nissan Rogue can quickly rise to dangerous levels, posing severe risks to people and pets.
- Do not adjust the driver’s seat while driving. Sudden movement of the seat could cause loss of vehicle control.
- The seatback should only be reclined as much as needed for comfort. For optimal seat belt effectiveness, passengers must sit upright. Reclining too far increases the risk of sliding under the lap belt and being injured.
CAUTION
When adjusting seat positions, make sure no part of your body is near moving components to prevent injury or damage.
Front seats
Basic information
Your Nissan Rogue is equipped with seats that may feature manual or power adjustments. Follow the procedures in this section for proper seat positioning.
Front manual seat adjustment
Forward and backward:
1. Pull up the adjusting lever 1.
2. Slide the seat to the preferred position.
3. Release the lever to lock the seat securely.
Reclining:
1. Pull up the adjusting lever 2.
2. Adjust the seatback to the desired angle.
3. Release the lever to lock the seatback.
The reclining function helps drivers and passengers of different sizes achieve proper seat belt fit.
The seatback can also be reclined for resting when the vehicle is parked.
Seat lifter (if so equipped):
Lift or press the adjusting lever to raise or lower the seat height to your preference.
Front power seat adjustment
Operating tips:
- The power seat motor features an auto-reset overload protection system. If the motor stops, wait 30 seconds before trying again.
- To avoid draining the battery, avoid prolonged use of the power seat when the engine is off.
Forward and backward:
Move the adjusting switch 1 forward or backward to reach the preferred seating position.
Reclining:
Move the adjusting switch 2 forward or backward to tilt the seatback to your desired angle.
This feature helps optimize seat belt positioning for occupants of various sizes.
The seatback can be reclined for comfort when the Nissan Rogue is parked.
Seat lifter (if so equipped):
Use the switch as shown to adjust the seat height or the front portion of the seat cushion.
Lumbar support (if so equipped)
The lumbar support feature enhances lower back support for the driver.
Press the switch to adjust the lumbar region until a comfortable position is reached.
NOTE:
The lumbar support motor continues to operate while the switch is pressed, even after reaching its maximum adjustment in either direction.
Rear seats
Reclining (if so equipped)
1. Pull up the lever A.
2. Tilt the seatback backward. The rear seat reclines slightly for added comfort.
3. Release the lever to lock the seatback securely.
Folding
Before folding the rear seats
- Secure the outer seat belt using the seat belt hook to prevent interference.
- If equipped with head restraints/headrests, slide the front seat forward to create enough space for the rear seatback to fold flat.
- Remove any drink containers from the rear cup holder.
To fold down the seatback
- Pull up the lever A and fold the seatback flat.
- Pull the lever B (if so equipped) located on the side of the luggage area for easy access.
To return the seatback
Raise the seatback until it fully latches into place.
Ensure the seat belts are clear of the latch mechanism before locking the seatback upright.
WARNING
- Never allow passengers to ride in the cargo area or on folded rear seats. Without proper restraints, the risk of serious injury or death in a collision is greatly increased.
- Do not allow anyone to ride in an area of the vehicle that is not equipped with seats and seat belts. Make sure every passenger is seated and properly restrained.
- Never allow more than one person to use the same seat belt.
- Do not fold down the rear seats if passengers are in the rear seat area or luggage is placed on the rear seats.
- Ensure the path of the seat is clear before operating it.
- Keep hands and feet away from moving parts to avoid injury.
- Head restraints/headrests must be adjusted correctly as they provide essential protection in an accident.
Always reinstall and adjust them properly if they have been removed.
- If head restraints/headrests are removed, store them securely to prevent injury or damage during sudden braking or a collision.
- When raising the seatback, confirm it is completely latched. An unsecured seatback can cause injuries in an accident or sudden stop.
- Secure all cargo properly to prevent shifting or sliding.
Do not stack cargo higher than the seatbacks. In a sudden stop or collision, unsecured items may cause injury.
WARNING
- After adjusting the seat, gently rock in it to make sure it is fully locked.
- Do not ride in the vehicle when the seatback is reclined.
This is dangerous because the shoulder belt will not sit properly against your body. In a crash, you may be thrown against it and sustain serious neck or other injuries.
You could also slide under the lap belt and suffer serious internal injuries.
- For the best protection while driving, keep the seat upright. Sit well back with both feet on the floor and adjust your seat belt properly.
