Threshold The rotation speed of the EVAP canister electric purge pump deviates from the threshold value

B Diagnosis condition Ignition switch ON
Signal (terminal) LIN communication signal
Threshold When the voltage from the EVAP canister electric purge pump is above or below the threshold value.
Diagnosis delay time 5 seconds

POSSIBLE CAUSE

  • EVAP canister electric purge pump

  • Harness or connectors (LIN communication circuit is open or shorted.)

FAIL-SAFE

Not applicable

DTC Confirmation Procedure

PRECONDITIONING

If DTC Confirmation Procedure has been previously conducted, always perform the following procedure before conducting the next test.

  1. Turn ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds.

  2. Turn ignition switch ON.

  3. Turn ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds.

GO TO 2.

PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE

  1. Start the engine.

  2. Let engine idle for 5 seconds.

  3. Check the DTC.

Is the DTC detected?

YES>>

Proceed to DTC Diagnosis Procedure.

NO-1>>

To check malfunction symptom before repair: Refer to Intermittent Incident.

NO-2>>

Confirmation after repair: INSPECTION END

DTC Diagnosis Procedure

CHECK HARNESS CONNECTOR FOR HALF-LOCK

  1. Turn ignition switch OFF.

  2. Check the fitting state of EVAP canister electric purge pump harness connector.

    NOTE:

    Secure lock mechanism of connector.

    Push in male connector in direction of the arrow to lock.

    Locked state.

  3. Turn ignition switch ON.

  4. Start the engine and wait at least 1 minute.

Is DTC P2DFD detected again?

YES>>

GO TO 2.

NO>>

INSPECTION END

CHECK EVAP CANISTER ELECTRIC PURGE PUMP POWER SUPPLY

  1. Turn ignition switch OFF.

  2. Disconnect EVAP canister electric purge pump harness connector.

  3. Turn ignition switch ON.

  4. Check the voltage between EVAP canister electric purge pump harness connector and ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

GO TO 3.

NO>>

Repair or replace error-detected parts.

CHECK EVAP CANISTER ELECTRIC PURGE PUMP GROUND CIRCUIT

  1. Turn ignition switch OFF.

  2. Disconnect ECM harness connector.

  3. Check the continuity between EVAP canister electric purge pump harness connector and ECM harness connector.

    EVAP canister electric purge pump
    Connector Terminal
    F105 5 Ground Existed

  4. Also check harness for short to power.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

GO TO 4.

NO>>

Repair or replace error-detected parts.

CHECK EVAP CANISTER ELECTRIC PURGE PUMP SIGNAL CIRCUIT

  1. Check the continuity between EVAP canister electric purge pump harness connector and ECM harness connector.

    Connector Terminal Connector Terminal
    F105 4 F72 23 Existed

  2. Also check harness for short to ground and to power.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

GO TO 5.

NO>>

Repair or replace error-detected parts.

REPLACE EVAP CANISTER ELECTRIC PURGE PUMP

  1. Replace EVAP canister electric purge pump. Refer to Removal and Installation.

  2. Perform DTC confirmation procedure again. Refer to DTC Description.

  3. Check the DTC.

Is the DTC displayed again?

YES>>

Check intermittent incident. Refer to Intermittent Incident.

NO>>

INSPECTION END
