DTC Confirmation Procedure
PRECONDITIONING
If DTC Confirmation Procedure has been previously conducted, always perform the following procedure before conducting the next test.

Turn ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds.
-
Turn ignition switch ON.
-
Turn ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds.
TESTING CONDITION:
Before performing the following procedure, confirm that battery voltage is more than 11 V at idle.
>>
GO TO 2.
PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE

Turn ignition switch ON and wait at least 2 seconds.
-
Start engine and let it idle for 5 seconds.
-
Check DTC.
Is DTC detected?
YES>>Proceed to DTC Diagnosis Procedure.
NO-1>>To check malfunction symptom before repair: Refer to Intermittent Incident.
NO-2>>Confirmation after repair: INSPECTION END
DTC Diagnosis Procedure
CHECK ADM VALVE VISUALLY
Check if foreign matter is caught between the ADM valve.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES>>GO TO 2.
NO>>Remove the foreign matter and clean the ADM valve inside.
CHECK ADM VALVE POWER SUPPLY
-
Turn ignition switch OFF.
-
Disconnect ADM valve harness connector.
-
Turn ignition switch ON.
-
Check the voltage between ADM valve harness connector and ground.

(Approx.)ADM valve Connector Terminal F93 5 Ground 5 V
Is the inspection result normal?
YES>>GO TO 4.
NO>>GO TO 3.
CHECK ADM VALVE POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT
-
Turn ignition switch OFF.
-
Disconnect ECM harness connector.
-
Check the continuity between ADM valve harness connector and ECM harness connector.
+ − Continuity ADM valve ECM Connector Terminal Connector Terminal F93 5 F71 84 Existed -
Also check harness for short to power.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES>>Perform the trouble diagnosis for power supply circuit.
NO>>Repair or replace error-detected parts.
CHECK ADM VALVE GROUND CIRCUIT
-
Turn ignition switch OFF.
-
Disconnect ECM harness connector.
-
Check the continuity between ADM valve harness connector and ECM harness connector.

Is the inspection result normal?
YES>>GO TO 5.
NO>>Repair or replace error-detected parts.
CHECK ADM VALVE MOTOR CIRCUIT
-
Check the continuity between ADM valve harness connector and ECM harness connector.
+ − Continuity ADM valve ECM Connector Terminal Connector Terminal F93 1 F71 121 Existed 2 122 -
Also check harness for short to ground and to power.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES>>GO TO 6.
NO>>Repair or replace error-detected parts.
CHECK ADM VALVE
Check the ADM valve. Refer to Component Inspection.
YES>>
Check intermittent incident. Refer to Intermittent Incident.
NO>>Replace ADM valve. Refer to Removal and Installation.
