DTC DETECTION LOGIC

Communication error

(Communication error) 		Diagnosis condition Engine running at idle
Signal (terminal) CAN communication signal
Threshold Sub starter & generator cannot communicate CAN communication signal
Diagnosis delay time 2 second or less

POSSIBLE CAUSE

  • Sub starter & generator

  • ECM

  • Harness or connector (CAN communication line between sub starter & generator and ECM)

FAIL-SAFE

Inhibit the idle start/stop system

DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE

PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE

CONSULT

  1. Start the engine and let it idle and wait for 2 seconds or more.

  2. Select “Self diagnosis result” mode of “Sub starter & generator”.

Is DTC detected?

YES>>

Refer to Diagnosis Procedure.

NO-1>>

To check malfunction symptom before repair: Refer to Intermittent Incident.

NO-2>>

Confirmation after repair: Inspection End.

Diagnosis Procedure

CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

Check CAN communication system. Refer to Trouble Diagnosis Flow Chart.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

GO TO 2.

NO>>

Repair or replace the malfunctioning parts.

REPLACE ECM

  • Replace ECM. Refer to ECM : Removal & Installation.

  • Perform “DTC Confirmation Procedure”. Refer to DTC Description.

Is DTC“P1C92-82” displayed again?

YES>>

Replace sub starter & generator. Refer to Removal and Installation.

NO>>

Inspection End.
