POSSIBLE CAUSE

  • Harness or connectors (VCR actuator harness connector)

  • VCR actuator

FAIL-SAFE

Not applicable

DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE

CHECK DTC PRIORITY

If DTC P11AE is displayed with the following DTC, perform the confirmation procedure (trouble diagnosis) for the applicable DTC.

Is DTC P11A0, P11AC, P11AD or P11AF detected?

YES>>

Perform diagnosis of applicable.

  • DTC P11A0: DTC Description.

  • DTC P11AC: DTC Description.

  • DTC P11AD: DTC Description.

  • DTC P11AF: DTC Description.

NO>>

GO TO 2.

PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE

  1. Start the engine and let it idle at least 1 minutes.

  2. Check 1st trip DTC.

Is DTC P11AE detected?

YES>>

Refer to DTC Diagnosis Procedure.

NO>>

GO TO 3.

CHECK VCR ACTUATOR

With CONSULT

  1. Reconnect VCR control module and VCR actuator harness connector.

  2. Ignition switch ON.

  3. On CONSULT screen, select “ENGINE”>>“Active Test”>>“VCR system”.

Is DTC P11AE detected?

YES>>

Refer to DTC Diagnosis Procedure.

NO>>

To check malfunction symptom before repair: Refer to Intermittent Incident.

NO-2>>

Confirmation after repair: INSPECTION END

DTC Diagnosis Procedure

CHECK DTC PRIORITY

If DTC P11AE is displayed with the following DTC, perform the confirmation procedure (trouble diagnosis) for the applicable DTC.

Is DTC P11A0, P11AC, P11AD or P11AF detected?

YES>>

Perform diagnosis of applicable.

  • DTC P11A0: DTC Description.

  • DTC P11AC: DTC Description.

  • DTC P11AD: DTC Description.

  • DTC P11AF: DTC Description.

NO>>

GO TO 2.

PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE

  1. Start the engine and let it idle at least 1 minutes.

  2. Check 1st trip DTC.

Is DTC P11AE detected?

YES>>

Refer to DTC Diagnosis Procedure.

NO>>

GO TO 3.

CHECK VCR ACTUATOR

With CONSULT

  1. Reconnect VCR control module and VCR actuator harness connector.

  2. Ignition switch ON.

  3. On CONSULT screen, select “ENGINE”>>“Active Test”>>“VCR system”.

Is the DTC P11AE displayed again?

YES>>

Replace VCR actuator. Refer to Removal and Installation.

NO>>

INSPECTION END
