DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE
CHECK DTC PRIORITY
If DTC P0486 is displayed with the following DTC, perform the trouble diagnosis for the applicable DTC.

If applicable DTC detected?
YES>>Perform diagnosis of applicable.

DTC P06B0: Refer to DTC Description.

DTC P06B3: Refer to DTC Description.
GO TO 2.
PRECONDITIONING
If DTC Confirmation Procedure has been previously conducted, always perform the following procedure before conducting the next test.

Turn ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds.
-
Turn ignition switch ON.
-
Turn ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds.
TEST CONDITION:
Before performing the following procedure, confirm that battery voltage is 10 V or more at ignition switch ON.
>>
GO TO 3.
PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE

Start engine and let it idle for 5 seconds.
-
Check 1st trip DTC.
Is 1st trip DTC detected?
YES>>Proceed to DTC Diagnosis Procedure.
NO-1>>To check malfunction symptom before repair: Refer to Intermittent Incident.
NO-2>>Confirmation after repair: INSPECTION END
DTC Diagnosis Procedure
CHECK EGR DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE SENSOR POWER SUPPLY
-
Turn ignition switch OFF.
-
Disconnect EGR differential pressure sensor harness connector.
-
Turn ignition switch ON.
-
Check the voltage between EGR differential pressure sensor harness connector and ground.

(Approx.)EGR differential pressure sensor Connector Terminal F89 3 Ground 5 V
Is the inspection result normal?
YES>>GO TO 2.
NO>>Perform the trouble diagnosis for power supply circuit.
CHECK EGR DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE SENSOR GROUND CIRCUIT

Turn ignition switch OFF.
-
Disconnect ECM harness connector.
-
Check the continuity between EGR differential pressure sensor harness connector and ECM harness connector.
+ − Continuity EGR differential pressure sensor ECM Connector Terminal Connector Terminal F89 1 F71 106 Existed -
Also check harness for short to power.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES>>GO TO 3.
NO>>Repair or replace error-detected parts.
CHECK EGR DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE SENSOR INPUT SIGNAL CIRCUIT
-
Check the continuity between EGR differential pressure sensor harness connector and ECM harness connector.
+ − Continuity EGR differential pressure sensor ECM Connector Terminal Connector Terminal F89 2 F71 93 Existed -
Also check harness for short to ground and to power.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES>>GO TO 4.
NO>>Repair or replace error-detected parts.
CHECK EGR DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE SENSOR
Check the EGR differential pressure sensor. Refer to Component Inspection.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES>>Check intermittent incident. Refer to Intermittent Incident.
NO>>Replace EGR differential pressure sensor. Refer to Exploded View.
