DTC Description
CAN (Controller Area Network) is a serial communication system for real time application. It is an on-Nissan Ariya vehicle multiplex communication system with high data communication speed and excellent error detectability. Many electronic control units are equipped onto Nissan Ariya vehicles, and each control unit shares information and links with other control units during operation (not independent). In CAN communication, control units are connected with two communication lines (CAN-High line, CAN-Low line) allowing a high rate of information transmission with less wiring. Each control unit transmits/receives data but selectively reads required data only.

Diagnosis Procedure
CHECK CONNECTOR

Ignition switch OFF.
-
Check the ethernet harness connectors and terminals of combination meter and 8CH CAN gateway for damage or looseness.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES>>GO TO 2.
NO>>Repair or replace the malfunction part, securely lock the harness connector.
PERFORM ALL DTC READING
CONSULT

Ignition switch ON.

Perform “All DTC Reading” .
-
Check if DTC of ethernet (DTC “U288C-88”) is detected in “self-diagnosis results” of “8ch CAN GATEWAY 2”
Is DTC of ethernet detected?
YES>>Replace the 8CH CAN gateway (Refer to Removal and Installation), and GO TO 3.
NO>>8CH CAN gateway. Refer to Removal and Installation.

Erase all self-diagnosis results.

Perform DTC confirmation procedure again. Refer to DTC Description.
Is DTC “U278C-87” detected as the current malfunction?
