Moonroof Motor Assembly

Diagnosis Procedure

CHECK LIN COMMUNICATION SIGNAL

  1. Ignition switch OFF.

  2. Disconnect moonroof motor assembly harness connector.

  3. Ignition switch ON.

  4. Check signal between moonroof motor assembly harness connector and ground using an oscilloscope.

    (+) (—) Signal
    Moonroof motor assembly
    Connector Terminal
    R4 9 Ground

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

Inspection End.

NO>>

GO TO 2.

CHECK LIN COMMUNICATION CIRCUIT

  1. Ignition switch OFF.

  2. Disconnect BCM connector.

  3. Check continuity between BCM harness connector and moonroof motor assembly harness connector.

    With Type A Meter
    BCM Moonroof motor assembly Continuity
    Connector Terminal Connector Terminal
    B123 91 R4 9 Yes
    With Type B Meter
    BCM Moonroof motor assembly Continuity
    Connector Terminal Connector Terminal
    M18 24 R4 9 Yes

  4. Check continuity between moonroof motor assembly harness connector and ground.

    Moonroof motor assembly (—) Continuity
    Connector Terminal
    R4 9 Ground No

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

Replace BCM. Refer to Removal and Installation.

NO>>

Repair or replace harness.

Sunshade Motor Assembly

Diagnosis Procedure

CHECK LIN COMMUNICATION SIGNAL

  1. Ignition switch OFF.

  2. Disconnect sunshade motor assembly harness connector.

  3. Ignition switch ON.

  4. Check signal between sunshade motor assembly harness connector and ground using an oscilloscope.

    (+) (—) Signal
    Sunshade motor assembly
    Connector Terminal
    R5 9 Ground

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

Inspection End.

NO>>

GO TO 2.

CHECK LIN COMMUNICATION CIRCUIT

  1. Ignition switch OFF.

  2. Disconnect BCM connector.

  3. Check continuity between BCM harness connector and sunshade motor assembly harness connector.

    With Type A Meter
    BCM Sunshade motor assembly Continuity
    Connector Terminal Connector Terminal
    B123 91 R5 9 Yes
    With Type B Meter
    BCM Sunshade motor assembly Continuity
    Connector Terminal Connector Terminal
    M18 24 R5 9 Yes

  4. Check continuity between sunshade motor assembly harness connector and ground.

    Sunshade motor assembly (—) Continuity
    Connector Terminal
    R5 9 Ground No

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

Replace BCM. Refer to Removal and Installation.

NO>>

Repair or replace harness.
