DTC Description

NOTE:

The Signal Tech II Tool [– (NI-50190)] can be used to perform the following functions: Refer to the Signal Tech II User Guide for additional information.

  • Activate and display TPMS sensor IDs

  • Display tire pressure reported by the TPMS sensor

  • Read TPMS DTCs

  • Register TPMS sensor IDs

1 Diagnosis condition

Drive the Nissan Ariya vehicle at 25 MPH (40 km/h) or more.

NOTE:

When DTC is memorized, DTC is displayed again at ignition switch ON.

Signal (terminal) Temperature data signal.
Threshold Malfunction in the tire pressure data from the front left tire pressure sensor.
Diagnosis delay time 1 second or less.
2 Diagnosis condition

Drive the Nissan Ariya vehicle at 25 MPH (40 km/h) or more.

NOTE:

When DTC is memorized, DTC is displayed again at ignition switch ON.

Signal (terminal) Temperature data signal.
Threshold Malfunction in the tire temperature data from the front left tire pressure sensor.
Diagnosis delay time 1 second or less.
3 Diagnosis condition

Drive the Nissan Ariya vehicle at 25 MPH (40 km/h) or more.

NOTE:

When DTC is memorized, DTC is displayed again at ignition switch ON.

Signal (terminal) Temperature data signal.
Threshold Malfunction in the G sensor data from front left tire pressure sensor.
Diagnosis delay time 1 second or less.

POSSIBLE CAUSE

Front left tire pressure sensor

FAIL-SAFE

DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE

PERFORM SELF DIAGNOSIS RESULT

CONSULT

  1. Ignition switch ON.

    CAUTION:

    Never start the engine.

  2. Check tire pressure for all wheels and adjust to the specified value. Refer to Tire Air Pressure.

Is DTC “C1731-68” detected?

YES>>

Refer to DTC Diagnosis Procedure.

NO-1>>

To check malfunction symptom before repair: Refer to Intermittent Incident.

NO-2>>

Confirmation after repair: Inspection End.

DTC Diagnosis Procedure

NOTE:

The Signal Tech II Tool [– (NI-50190)] can be used to perform the following functions: Refer to the Signal Tech II User Guide for additional information.

  • Activate and display TPMS sensor IDs

  • Display tire pressure reported by the TPMS sensor

  • Read TPMS DTCs

  • Register TPMS sensor IDs

PERFORM SELF DIAGNOSIS RESULT

Replace front left tire pressure sensor even if other DTCs are displayed along with “C1731-68” in “Self diagnosis result” mode of “BCM”.

Replace front left tire pressure sensor. Refer to Removal & Installation .
