DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE
PRECONDITIONING

Pull the parking brake switch.
NOTE:
Check to make sure that the parking brake switch indicator is turned ON.

Ignition switch OFF.
-
Get out of the Nissan Ariya vehicle and close all doors.
-
Wait 65 seconds.
NOTE:
-
Check to make sure that the parking brake switch indicator is turned OFF.
-
If the rear brake calipers are hot, wait up to an hour until parking brake indicator light on the switch turns OFF. Once indicator light on the switch turns OFF, move to next step.

GO TO 2.
DTC REPRODUCTION PROCEDURE
CONSULT

Ignition switch ON.
-
Perform self diagnosis for “EPS/Direct Adaptive Steering 3”.
Is DTC “C1601-16” detected?
YES>>Proceed to diagnosis procedure. Refer to Diagnosis Procedure.
NO-1>>To check malfunction symptom before repair: Refer to Intermittent Incident.
NO-2>>Confirmation after repair: Inspection End.
Diagnosis Procedure
CHECK POWER STEERING CONTROL MODULE POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT
Check power steering control module power supply circuit. Refer to Diagnosis Procedure.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES>>GO TO 2.
NO>>Repair / replace harness, connector, terminal, fuse, or fusible link.
CHECK TERMINAL
Check the power steering control module terminals for damage or loose connection with harness connector.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES>>Replace the power steering control module (steering gear assembly). Refer to Removal and Installation.
NO>>Repair/replace harness, connector or terminal.
