Component Function Check
CHECK COOLING FAN FUNCTION
With CONSULT
-
Turn ignition switch ON.
-
Perform “FAN DUTY CONTROL” in “ACTIVE TEST” mode of “ECM” using CONSULT.
-
Touch “LOW”, “HI” on the CONSULT screen.
-
Check that cooling fan operates.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES>>INSPECTION END
NO>>Refer to Diagnosis Procedure.
Diagnosis Procedure
CHECK COOLING FAN CONTROL MODULE POWER SUPPLY
-
Turn ignition switch OFF.
-
Disconnect cooling fan control module harness connector.
-
Check the voltage between cooling fan control module harness connector and ground.
+ − Voltage Cooling fan control module-1 Connector Terminal F109 2 Ground Battery voltage + − Voltage Cooling fan control module-2 Connector Terminal F110 2 Ground Battery voltage
Is the inspection result normal?
YES>>GO TO 2.
NO>>Repair or replace error ‐ detected parts.
CHECK COOLING FAN CONTROL MODULE GROUND CIRCUIT
-
Check the continuity between cooling fan control module harness connector and ground.
+ − Continuity Cooling fan control module-1 Connector Terminal F109 1 Ground Existed + − Continuity Cooling fan control module-2 Connector Terminal F110 1 Ground Existed -
Also check harness for short to power.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES>>GO TO 3.
NO>>Repair or replace error-detected parts.
CHECK COOLING FAN CONTROL SIGNAL CIRCUIT
-
Disconnect IPDM E/R harness connector.
-
Check the continuity between cooling fan control module harness connector and IPDM E/R harness connector.
Cooling fan control module-1 IPDM E/R Continuity Connector Terminal Connector Terminal F109 4 E63 106 Existed Cooling fan control module-2 IPDM E/R Continuity Connector Terminal Connector Terminal F110 4 E63 106 Existed -
Also check harness for short to ground and to power.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES>>Check intermittent incident. Refer to Intermittent Incident.
NO>>Repair or replace error-detected parts.
