Signal —
Threshold

When temperature sensor in AWD control unit is open.

(Temperature sensor voltage > threshold)
Diagnosis delay time 100 ms or more

POSSIBLE CAUSE

Internal malfunction of AWD control unit

(Malfunction of the temperature sensor in the AWD control unit due to open circuit)

FAIL-SAFE

Although AWD control is canceled, the vehicle can drive at 2WD condition.

DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE

PRECONDITIONING

If “DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE” has been previously conducted, always place ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds before conducting the next test.

GO TO 2.

DTC REPRODUCTION PROCEDURE

CONSULT

  1. Ignition switch ON.

  2. Drive at 10 km/h (6 MPH) or more for approximately 5 minutes in urban areas.

  3. Stop the Nissan Ariya vehicle.

  4. Perform "Self diagnosis result" mode of “AWD/4WD”.

Is DTC “C1219-13” detected?

YES>>

Proceed to diagnosis procedure. Refer to Diagnosis Procedure.

NO-1>>

To check malfunction symptom before repair: Refer to Intermittent Incident.

NO-2>>

Confirmation after repair: Inspection End.

DTC Diagnosis Procedure

PERFORM SELF DIAGNOSIS

CONSULT

  1. Erase "Self diagnosis result" mode of “AWD/4WD”.

  2. Ignition switch OFF.

  3. Wait for 10 seconds or more.

  4. Ignition switch ON.

  5. Wait for 15 seconds or more.

  6. Perform "Self diagnosis result" mode of “AWD/4WD”.

Is DTC “C1219-13” detected?

YES>>

Replace actuator assembly due to the malfunction of the AWD control unit. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly.

NO>>

Inspection End.
