Additional Service When Replacing Adas Control Unit 2
Without Propilot Assist 2.1
Work Procedure
Always perform the additional service after replacing the ADAS control unit 2.
ADAS CONTROL UNIT 2 CONFIGURATION
Perform saving Nissan Ariya vehicle internal information according to "Replace ECU" in CONSULT Operation Manual.

GO TO 2.
VIN REGISTRATION
-
Turn ignition switch OFF.
-
Turn ignition switch ON.
NOTE:
If ignition switch is not turned OFF after setting configuration, ADAS control unit 2 may detect DTC.
-
Perform VIN registration. Refer to Work Procedure.

GO TO 3.
WRITING MAC KEY
Perform MAC key writing. Refer to Work Procedure.
>>
GO TO 4.
STEERING TORQUE CALIBRATION
Perform the steering torque calibration. Refer to Work Procedure.
>>
GO TO 5.
PERFORM SELF-DIAGNOSIS
Check if the DTC is detected on the self-diagnosis results of “ICC/ADAS 2”.
Is any DTC detected?
YES>>Perform the trouble diagnosis for the detected DTC. Refer to DTC Index.
NO>>GO TO 6.
ACTION TEST
Perform the system action test to check the operation status of one of the following systems:

AEB: Refer to Work Procedure.

RAB: Refer to Work Flow.

ProPILOT Assist 1.1:

FULL TFT METER: Refer to Work Procedure.

7 information display: Refer to Work Procedure.

Configuration (adas Control Unit 2)
Work Procedure
Vehicle specification needs to be written with CONSULT because it is not written after replacing the ADAS control unit 2.
The configuration requires network connection. CONSULT connects to network and then it downloads the configuration data from the server. Then CONSULT writes the Nissan Ariya vehicle specification to the ADAS control unit 2.
NOTE:
For details the network connection and operation, refer to “CONSULT Operation Manual”.
The configuration no need to “save” configuration data from the ADAS control unit 2. The configuration data is always generated freshly at the server and then downloaded to the CONSULT.
CAUTION:
-
Complete the procedure of “Configuration” in order.
-
If incorrect “Configuration”, incidents might occur.
WRITING VEHICLE SPECIFICATION
With CONSULT
Perform writing Nissan Ariya vehicle specification to ADAS control unit 2 following "Automatic Configuration" procedure of "Configuration" according to CONSULT Operation Manual.

Log in the network according to CONSULT guidance.

Pre-Inspection for Diagnosis
Work Procedure
CHECK THE STEERING WHEEL
Is the steering wheel equipped with a cover or other materials?
YES>>Remove the steering wheel cover or other materials.
NO>>Inspection End.
Steering Torque Calibration
Work Procedure
After replacing the ADAS control unit 2 and after replacing or removing the following steering components, the steering torque calibration is necessary to operate the system normally.

Steering wheel
-
Spiral cable
-
Steering angle sensor
-
Steering column assembly
-
Steering gear assembly
NOTE:
Follow the CONSULT when performing Steering Torque Calibration. (Steering Torque Calibration cannot be performed without CONSULT).
Work Procedure (Preparation)
PERFORM SELF-DIAGNOSIS
-
Start the engine.
-
Perform self-diagnosis of "ICC/ADAS 2".
-
Check if any DTC is detected.
Is any DTC detected?
YES>>Perform diagnosis on the detected DTC and repair or replace the applicable item. Refer to DTC Index.
NO>>GO TO 2.
PREPARATION BEFORE STEERING TORQUE CALIBRATION
-
Perform pre-inspection for diagnosis. Refer to Work Procedure.
-
Place the car on a level surface.
-
Adjust the tire pressure to the specified pressure value.
-
Maintain no-load in Nissan Ariya vehicle.
-
Check if the following conditions are satisfied.
-
Engine: Running
-
Shift position: P Range
-
Steering wheel: Center (within ±15 degrees)
-
ProPILOT Assist: OFF
-
Nissan Ariya Vehicle speed: 0 km/h
-
ADAS control unit 2 voltage: More than 10.5 V
-
-
Release the parking brake.
YES>>
Refer to Work Procedure (Steering Torque Calibration).
Work Procedure (Steering Torque Calibration)
NOTE:
-
The steering wheel is operated automatically when "Start" is touched.
-
Do not touch the steering wheel.
STEERING TORQUE CALIBRATION
CONSULT
NOTE:
Operate CONSULT outside the Nissan Ariya vehicle, and close all the doors.
-
Select "Work Support", then "Steering Torque Calibration".
-
Select "START" to begin the Steering Torque Calibration.
NOTE:
Never touch steering wheel or shake the Nissan Ariya vehicle when the Steering Torque Calibration is conducted.
-
Confirm the displayed item.
-
“Completed”: Select “Completion”.
-
“Abnormally completed”: Perform the following services.
-
Displayed item possible cause service procedure:

| Calibration for torque value is abnormally completed. | Touch "Retry". |
Confirm that “Completed” is displayed and then select “End” to close the adjustment procedure.

Mac Key Writing
Work Procedure
When replacing ADAS control unit 2, it is necessary to write MAC key to ADAS control unit 2. Write MAC key to ADAS control unit 2 according to "MAC Key writing" procedure of "CONSULT Operation Manual".
CAUTION:
During MAC key writing, maintain the following conditions:

Ignition switch ON
-
CONSULT is connected to internet
PERFORM MAC KEY WRITING

Ignition switch ON.
-
Select "MAC Key writing" on "Work Support" of "ICC/ADAS 2" using CONSULT.
-
Touch "Write".

Vin Registration
Work Procedure
VIN Registration is an operation to register the VIN in ADAS control unit.
CHECK VIN
Check VIN of vehicle and note it. For VIN stamped position, refer to Information About Identification or Model Code.

PERFORM VIN REGISTRATION
With CONSULT

Ignition switch ON.
CAUTION:
Never select READY

Select “VIN registration” at "WORK SUPPORT" mode on the CONSULT screen.
