DTC Description

DTC DETECTION LOGIC

U298C-88 Ethernet circuit Diagnosis condition When ignition switch is ON.
Signal (terminal) —
Threshold Lost ethernet communication with ADAS control unit 2
Diagnosis delay time 120 seconds or more

POSSIBLE CAUSE

  • Ethernet harness

  • 8CH CAN gateway

  • ADAS control unit 2

FAIL-SAFE

8CH CAN gateway stops transmitting and receiving ethernet communication signals between ethernet communication circuit which cannot communicate.

Confirmation Procedure

With type B meter

PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE

With CONSULT

  1. Ignition switch ON and wait at least 120 seconds or more.

  2. Select “Self Diagnostic Result” mode of “8ch CAN GATEWAY 2” using CONSULT.

  3. Check DTC.

Is DTC U298C–88 detected?

YES>>

Refer to DTC Diagnosis Procedure.

NO-1>>

To check malfunction symptom before repair: Intermittent Incident

NO-2>>

Confirmation after repair: INSPECTION END

With type A meter

PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE

With CONSULT

  1. Ignition switch ON and wait at least 180 seconds or more.

  2. Select “Self Diagnostic Result” mode of “8ch CAN GATEWAY 3” using CONSULT.

  3. Check DTC.

Is DTC U298C–88 detected?

YES>>

Refer to DTC Diagnosis Procedure.

NO-1>>

To check malfunction symptom before repair: Intermittent Incident

NO-2>>

Confirmation after repair: INSPECTION END

DTC Diagnosis Procedure

With type B meter

CHECK CONNECTOR

  1. Ignition switch OFF.

  2. Check the ethernet harness connectors and terminals of 8CH CAN gateway and ADAS control unit 2 for damage or looseness.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

GO TO 2.

NO>>

Repair or replace the malfunction part, securely lock the harness connector.

PERFORM ALL DTC READING

  1. Ignition switch ON.

  2. Perform “All DTC Reading” with CONSULT.

  3. Check if any DTCs of ethernet (DTC “U2952-88”) are detected in “Self Diagnostic Result” of “ICC/ADAS 2”

Are any DTCs of ethernet detected?

YES>>

Replace the 8CH CAN gateway (Refer to Removal and Installation.), and GO TO 3.

NO>>

Replace the ADAS control unit 2. Refer to Removal and Installation.

PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE-1

  1. Erases all self-diagnosis results with CONSULT.

  2. Perform DTC confirmation procedure again. Refer to Confirmation Procedure.

Is DTC “U298C-88” detected as the current malfunction?

YES>>

Replace the ADAS control unit 2 (Removal and Installation), and GO TO 4.

NO>>

INSPECTION END

PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE-2

  1. Erases all self-diagnosis results with CONSULT.

  2. Perform DTC confirmation procedure again. Refer to Confirmation Procedure.

Is DTC “U298C-88” detected as the current malfunction?

YES>>

Replace the ethernet harness between 8CH CAN gateway and ADAS control unit 2.

NO>>

INSPECTION END

With type A meter

CHECK CONNECTOR

  1. Ignition switch OFF.

  2. Check the ethernet harness connectors and terminals of 8CH CAN gateway and ADAS control unit 2 for damage or looseness.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

GO TO 2.

NO>>

Repair or replace the malfunction part, securely lock the harness connector.

PERFORM ALL DTC READING

  1. Ignition switch ON.

  2. Perform “All DTC Reading” with CONSULT.

  3. Check if any DTCs of ethernet (DTC “U2952-88”) are detected in “Self Diagnostic Result” of “ICC/ADAS 2”

Are any DTCs of ethernet detected?

YES>>

Replace the 8CH CAN gateway (Refer to Removal and Installation.), and GO TO 3.

NO>>

Replace the ADAS control unit 2. Refer to Removal and Installation.

PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE-1

  1. Erases all self-diagnosis results with CONSULT.

  2. Perform DTC confirmation procedure again. Refer to Confirmation Procedure.

Is DTC “U298C-88” detected as the current malfunction?

YES>>

Replace the ADAS control unit 2 (Removal and Installation), and GO TO 4.

NO>>

INSPECTION END

PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE-2

  1. Erases all self-diagnosis results with CONSULT.

  2. Perform DTC confirmation procedure again. Refer to Confirmation Procedure.

Is DTC “U298C-88” detected as the current malfunction?

YES>>

Replace the ethernet harness between 8CH CAN gateway and ADAS control unit 2.

NO>>

INSPECTION END
