DTC DETECTION LOGIC

DTC CONSULT screen terms DTC detection condition
U2212 87 CAN communication error brake unit Diagnosis condition Ignition switch ON
Signal (terminal) CAN communication signal
Threshold ECM is not recieving CAN communication signal.
Diagnosis delay time 2 seconds or more

POSSIBLE CAUSE

  • Harness or connectors (CAN communication line is open or shorted)

  • ADAS control unit 2

FAIL-SAFE

Engine Control System

Stop/Start System

Not applicable

DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE

CHECK DTC PRIORITY

If DTC U2212 is displayed with DTC P0607, first perform the confirmation procedure (trouble diagnosis) for DTC P0607.

Is DTC P0607 detected?

YES>>

Proceed to DTC Description.

NO>>

GO TO 2.

PRECONDITIONING

If DTC Confirmation Procedure has been previously conducted, always perform the following procedure before conducting the next test.

  1. Ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds.

  2. Ignition switch ON.

  3. Ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds.

TESTING CONDITION:

Before performing the following procedure, confirm that battery voltage is more than 11 V at idle.

GO TO 3.

PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE

  1. Start engine and let it idle for least 3 seconds.

  2. Check 1st trip DTC.

Is DTC U2212 detected?

YES>>

Refer to Diagnosis Procedure.

NO-1>>

To check malfunction symptom before repair: Refer to Intermittent Incident.

NO-2>>

Confirmation after repair: INSPECTION END

Diagnosis Procedure

CHECK DTC PRIORITY

If DTC U2212 is displayed with DTC P0607, first perform the confirmation procedure (trouble diagnosis) for DTC P0607.

Is DTC P0607 detected?

YES>>

Proceed to DTC Description.

NO>>

GO TO 2.

CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION LINE

Perform the trouble diagnosis for CAN communication system. Refer to Trouble Diagnosis Flow Chart.
