When any of the following alerts appear on the vehicle information display of the Nissan Rogue, a chime will sound and the I-BSI system will automatically switch off for safety.
Turn the I-BSI system OFF and ON again once the above conditions disappear and normal operation can resume.
System malfunction
If the I-BSI system experiences a malfunction, it switches off automatically, the I-BSI indicator illuminates, a warning chime sounds, and the “Malfunction See Owner's Manual” message appears in the Nissan Rogue vehicle information display.
Action to take:
Bring the vehicle to a safe stop and shift into the P (Park) position. Restart the engine. If the warning continues to appear, it is recommended to have the vehicle inspected by an authorized NISSAN dealer.
System maintenance

Basic information
The I-BSI system on the Nissan Rogue uses two radar sensors A located near the rear bumper.
Keep the area around these sensors clean at all times to ensure proper function.
The sensors can become temporarily blocked by ambient conditions such as splashing water, fog, or mist.
They may also be obstructed by ice, frost, dirt, or debris that accumulates near the radar units.
Always check for and remove any objects or buildup around the sensors.
Avoid placing stickers, transparent films, accessories, or additional paint in the vicinity of the radar sensors.
Do not strike or damage the surface near the sensors.
If the area is damaged due to a collision, inspection by a NISSAN dealer is recommended.
The lane camera unit B for the I-BSI system is mounted above the inside mirror of the Nissan Rogue. Proper maintenance is necessary to ensure accurate lane detection.
Precautions on repairing the bumper
Use caution during bumper repair because the radar sensors are integrated into the bumper design of the Nissan Rogue.
The radar unit detects objects by emitting radio waves and measuring reflections. Any alteration to the bumper surface can interfere with this process.
WARNING
Improper repair—such as using incompatible filler materials or incorrect repainting—may weaken or block radar signals. This can cause the system to misread the surroundings or fail to detect vehicles, potentially leading to serious injury.
If bumper repair is required, it is strongly recommended that the work be performed by an authorized NISSAN dealer.
