Component Parts Location

1. Back door opener switch (request switch) Refer to Back Door Opener Switch.
2. Back door lock assembly (back door switch)

Back door lock actuator locks/unlocks the back door latch assembly.

Refer to Back Door Lock Assembly.
3. Rear door lock actuator RH

Rear door lock actuator locks/unlocks the rear door latch assembly.

Refer to Door Lock Assembly.
4. Outside key antenna (rear door RH)

Outside key antenna (rear door RH) detects whether Intelligent Key is outside the Nissan Ariya vehicle or not and then transmits the signal to the Intelligent Key unit.

5. Front door lock actuator RH

Front door lock actuator locks/unlocks the front door latch assembly.

6. Front door request switch RH (if so equipped) Refer to Door Request Switch.
7. Intelligent Key unit Refer to Intelligent Key Unit.
8. TCU (telematics communication unit)

TCU transmits engine start request signal to BCM when engine start request is received from Nissan Connection TM data center.

9. ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit)

ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit) transmits the Nissan Ariya vehicle speed signal to the BCM via CAN communication.

10. Horn Horn is operated when the panic button on the Intelligent Key is pressed or the alarm is activated.
11. Hood switch Refer to Hood Switch.
12. ECM (engine control module)

  • When ignition switch is ON, the Intelligent Key unit starts communication with ECM and performs the ID verification between Intelligent Key unit and ECM.

  • If the verfication result is OK, the engine can start. If the verfication result is NG, the engine cannot start.

13. IPDM E/R (intelligent power distribution module engine room)

Starter cut relay is controlled by the BCM, and starter relay is controlled by IPDM E/R while communnication with BCM.

14. Electric shift control module

Electric shift control module detects the shift lever status, and transmits the park position signal to the BCM.

15. Stop lamp switch

Transmits the stop lamp switch signal to the BCM.

16. BCM (body control module)

  • BCM controls INTELLIGENT KEY SYSTEM (ENGINE START FUNCTION), NISSAN Nissan Ariya Vehicle IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM-NATS, and VEHICLE SECURITY SYSTEM.

  • BCM performs the ID verification between BCM and Intelliget Key when the Intelligent Key is carred into the detection area of inside key antenna, and push-button ignition swich is pressed. If the ID verification result is OK, ignition switch operation is available.

  • Then, when the ignition switch is placed in the ON position, BCM perofrms ID verification between BCM and ECM. If the ID verification result is OK, ECM can start engine.

17. Push-button ignition switch (NATS antenna amp.)

Push-button ignition switch has push switch inside which detects when the push-button ignition switch is pressed, and then transmits ON/OFF signal to the BCM. BCM changes the ignition switch position with the operation of push-button ignition switch. BCM maintains the ignition switch position status while push-button ignition switch is not operated.

18. Combination meter

BCM transmits meter display signal to the combination meter via CAN communication.

19. Inside key antenna (USA production)

Inside key antenna detects whether the Intelligent Key is inside of the Nissan Ariya vehicle or not, and then transmits the signal to the BCM.

20. Front door lock actuator LH

Front door lock actuator locks/unlocks the front door latch assembly.

21. Front door request switch LH (if so equipped) Refer to Door Request Switch.
22. Outside key antenna (rear door LH)

Outside key antenna (rear door LH) detects whether Intelligent Key is outside the Nissan Ariya vehicle or not and then transmits the signal to the Intelligent Key unit.

23. Rear door lock actuator LH

Rear door lock actuator locks/unlocks the rear door latch assembly.

24. Inside key antenna (Japan production)

Inside key antenna detects whether the Intelligent Key is inside of the Nissan Ariya vehicle or not, and then transmits the signal to the BCM.

25. Outside key antenna (rear bumper)

Outside key antenna (rear bumper) detects whether Intelligent Key is outside the Nissan Ariya vehicle or not and then transmits the signal to the Intelligent Key unit.

26. Hands free sensor control unit

Hands free sensor control unit judges user operation by detecting the hands free sensor.

27. Hands free sensor

Hands free sensor detects when the user performs kick motion toward rear bumper.

28. Starter cut relay Starter cut relay is controlle by bcm, and starter relay is controlled by IPDM E/R while communicating with BCM via CAN communication.

COMPONENT FUNCTION WITHIN SYSTEM

  • If the ID is successfully verified, when push-button ignition switch is pressed the engine can be started.

  • In that case, NATS ID verification can be performed when Intelligent Key backside is contacted to push-button ignition switch while brake pedal is depressed. If verification result is OK, engine can be started.

INDIVIDUAL COMPONENT FUNCTION

NATS antenna amp. detects the ID registered in Intelligent Key.

COMPONENT OPERATION

NATS antenna amp. transmits the ID received from the Intelligent Key to the Intelligent Key unit.

COMPONENT PARTS LOCATION

NATS antenna amp. is integrated in push-button ignition switch. Refer to Component Parts Location.

Hood Switch

COMPONENT FUNCTION WITHIN SYSTEM

  • Hood switch detects that hood is open, and then transmits hood switch signal to IPDM E/R.

  • IPDM E/R transmits hood switch signal to BCM via CAN communication.

  • If any door or hood is opened without using Intelligent Key, Nissan Ariya vehicle security system switches to the ALARM phase. Refer to System Description.

INDIVIDUAL COMPONENT FUNCTION

Hood switch detects that hood is open/close condition.

COMPONENT OPERATION

Hood switch is transmits hood switch signal to IPDM E/R.

COMPONENT PARTS LOCATION

Hood switch is integrated in hood lock assembly. Refer to Component Parts Location.
