Nissan Rogue (T33) 2021-Present Service Manual: Air Fuel Ratio Initial Learning

Description

Air fuel ratio initial learning of ECM to learn the air fuel ratio that keeps each engine idle speed within the specific range. It must be performed under any of the following conditions:

  • When ECM is replaced*

  • When engine assembly is replaced*

  • When electric throttle control actuator is replaced*

  • When mass air flow sensor is replaced

  • When direct fuel injector is replaced

  • When multi port fuel injector is replaced

CAUTION:

*: Must be performed “IDLE AIR VOLUME LEARNING” when electric throttle control actuator or ECM is replaced. Refer to Description.

Work Procedure

PRECONDITIONING

Make sure that all of the following conditions are satisfied.

Learning will be cancelled if any of the following conditions are missed for even a moment.

  • Battery temperature: More than 5°C (41°F)

  • Engine coolant temperature: More than 70°C (158°F)

  • Shift lever: P or N

  • Electric load switch: OFF

    (Air conditioner, headlamp, rear window defogger)

  • Nissan Ariya Vehicle speed: Stopped

  • Transmission: Warmed-up

  • Drive vehicle for 10 minutes.

Do you have CONSULT?

YES>>

GO TO 2.

AIR FUEL RATIO INITIAL LEARNING

With CONSULT

  1. Perform “ACCELERATOR PEDAL RELEASED POSITION LEARNING”. Refer to Description.

  2. Perform “THROTTLE VALVE CLOSED POSITION LEARNING”. Refer to Description.

  3. Start engine and warm it up to normal operating temperature.

  4. Select “Air fuel ratio initial learning” in “WORK SUPPORT” mode of “ENGINE” using CONSULT.

  5. Touch “START” and wait 20 seconds.

“CMPLT” displayed on CONSULT screen?

YES>>

INSPECTION END

NO>>

GO TO 3.

DETECT MALFUNCTIONING PART

Engine component parts and their installation condition are questionable. Check and eliminate the cause of the incident.

It is useful to perform “TROUBLE DIAGNOSIS - SPECIFICATION VALUE”. Refer to Diagnosis Procedure.

If any of the following conditions occur after the engine has started, eliminate the cause of the incident and perform “AIR FUEL RATIO INITIAL LEARNING” all over again:

  • Engine stalls

  • Erroneous idle
