Description

The front wiper does not operate under any operation conditions.

Diagnosis Procedure

CHECK FRONT WIPER REQUEST SIGNAL INPUT

CONSULT

  1. Select “ALL SIGNALS” in "Data monitor" mode of “IPDM E/R”.

  2. Switch the front wiper switch to HI and LO.

  3. With operating the front wiper switch, check the status of the "Front wiper relay" and "Front wiper HI/LO relay".

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

GO TO 2.

NO>>

GO TO 6.

CHECK WIPER RELAY OPERATION

  1. Ignition switch ON.

  2. Switch the front wiper switch to HI and LO, check front wiper operation.

Is front wiper operation normally?

YES>>

Inspection End.

NO - 1>>

HI and LO does not operate :GO TO 3.

NO – 2>>

HI only does not operate :Refer to Diagnosis Procedure.

NO – 3>>

LO only does not operate :Refer to Diagnosis Procedure.

CHECK FRONT WIPER MOTOR FUSE

  1. Ignition switch OFF.

  2. Check that the following fuse is not blown (open):

    Location No. Capacity
    IPDM E/R 77 30 A

Is the fuse blown (open)?

YES>>

Replace the blown (open) fuse after repairing the cause of blown (open).

NO>>

GO TO 4.

CHECK FRONT WIPER MOTOR GROUND CIRCUIT

Check front wiper motor ground circuit. Refer to Diagnosis Procedure.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

Replace front wiper motor. Refer to Removal and Installation.

NO>>

Replace IPDM E/R. Refer to Removal and Installation.

CHECK COMBINATION SWITCH

Perform the inspection of the combination switch. Refer to Symptom Table.

Is combination switch normal?

YES>>

Replace BCM. Refer to Removal and Installation.

NO>>

Replace combination switch. Refer to Removal and Installation.
