Sub starter & generator

Diagnosis condition
Signal (terminal)
Threshold When the ECM continuously detects an abnormal signal (voltage detection function error) of the sub starter & generator for 2 seconds or more.
Diagnosis delay time 2 seconds or more

POSSIBLE CAUSE

  • Sub starter & generator

  • Harness or connectors

    (Sub starter & generator circuit is open or shorted.)

FAIL-SAFE

Not applicable

Confirmation Procedure

PRECONDITIONING

If DTC Confirmation Procedure has been previously conducted, always perform the following procedure before conducting the next test.

  1. Turn ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds.

  2. Turn ignition switch ON.

  3. Turn ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds.

TESTING CONDITION:

Before performing the following procedure, confirm that battery voltage is more than 11 V at idle.

GO TO 2.

CHECK DTC PRIORITY

  1. Start the engine and let it idle for at least 5 seconds.

  2. Check DTC.

Is DTC P15B3 detected?

YES>>

Refer to DTC Diagnosis Procedure.

NO-1>>

To check malfunction symptom before repair: Refer to Intermittent Incident.

NO-2>>

Confirmation after repair: INSPECTION END

DTC Diagnosis Procedure

CHECK DTC WITH SUB STARTER & GENERATOR

Check DTC with sub starter & generator. Refer to DTC Index.

Is DTC detected?

YES>>

Perform trouble shooting relevant to DTC indicated.

NO>>

INSPECTION END
