VCR motor rotation angle sensor

(Variable compression ratio motor rotation angle sensor)
Diagnosis condition Ignition switch ON
Signal (terminal) VCR motor rotation angle sensor signal
Threshold The signal voltage of VCR motor rotation angle sensor signal is excessively high voltage.
Diagnosis delay time

POSSIBLE CAUSE

  • Harness or connectors (VCR motor rotation angle sensor harness connector)

  • VCR actuator (built-in VCR motor rotation angle sensor)

FAIL-SAFE

Not applicable

DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE

CHECK DTC PRIORITY

If DTC P11A2 is displayed with the DTC P11A0, perform the confirmation procedure (trouble diagnosis) for the DTC P11A0.

Is DTC P11A0 detected?

YES>>

Perform diagnosis of applicable. Refer to DTC Description.

NO>>

GO TO 2.

PRECONDITIONING

  1. Turn ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds.

  2. Turn ignition switch ON.

  3. Turn ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds.

TESTING CONDITION:

Before performing the following procedure, confirm that battery voltage is 12 V or more with ignition switch ON.

YES>>

GO TO 3.

PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE

  1. Turn ignition switch ON and wait at least 10 seconds.

  2. Check 1st trip DTC.

Is DTC P11A2 detected?

YES>>

Refer to DTC Diagnosis Procedure.

NO-1>>

To check malfunction symptom before repair: Refer to Intermittent Incident.

NO-2>>

Confirmation after repair: INSPECTION END

DTC Diagnosis Procedure

CHECK DTC PRIORITY

If DTC P11A2 is displayed with the DTC P11A0, perform the confirmation procedure (trouble diagnosis) for the DTC P11A0.

Is DTC P11A0 detected?

YES>>

Perform diagnosis of applicable. DTC Description

NO>>

GO TO 2.

CHECK VCR MOTOR ROTATION ANGLE SENSOR CIRCUIT

  1. Turn ignition switch OFF.

  2. Disconnect VCR control module and VCR motor rotation angle sensor harness connector.

  3. Check the continuity between VCR control module harness connector and VCR motor rotation angle sensor harness connector.

  4. Check harness for short to power and short to ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

GO TO 3.

NO>>

Repair or replace error-detected parts.

Refer to Component Inspection.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

Check intermittent incident. Refer to Intermittent Incident.

NO>>

Repair or replace malfunctioning parts.
