DTC Description

DTC DETECTION LOGIC

This diagnosis indicates the former, to detect open or short circuit malfunction.

(Fuel level sensor ″A″ circuit low) 		Diagnosis condition Ignition switch ON

Threshold An excessively low resistance from the sensor is sent to ECM
Diagnosis delay time —

POSSIBLE CAUSE

  • Harness or connectors

    • CAN communication line is open or shorted.

    • Fuel level sensor circuit is open or shorted.

  • Combination meter

  • Fuel level sensor

FAIL-SAFE

Not applicable

DTC Confirmation Procedure

CHECK DTC PRIORITY

If DTC P0462 is displayed with DTC UXXXX or P0607, first perform the trouble diagnosis for DTC UXXXX or P0607.

Is applicable DTC detected?

YES>>

Perform diagnosis of applicable. Refer to DTC Index.

NO>>

GO TO 2.

PRECONDITIONING

If DTC Confirmation Procedure has been previously conducted, always turn ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds before conducting the next test.

TESTING CONDITION:

Before performing the following procedure, confirm that battery voltage is between 11 V and 16 V at ignition switch ON.

GO TO 3.

PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE

  1. Turn ignition switch ON and wait at least 5 seconds.

  2. Check 1st trip DTC.

Is 1st trip DTC detected?

YES>>

Proceed to DTC Diagnosis Procedure.

NO-1>>

To check malfunction symptom before repair: Refer to Intermittent Incident.

NO-2>>

Confirmation after repair: INSPECTION END

DTC Diagnosis Procedure

CHECK DTC PRIORITY

If DTC P0462 is displayed with DTC UXXXX or P0607, first perform the trouble diagnosis for DTC UXXXX or P0607.

Is applicable DTC detected?

YES>>

Perform diagnosis of applicable. Refer to DTC Index.

NO>>

GO TO 2.

CHECK COMBINATION METER FUNCTION

Refer to Component Function Check (FULL TFT METER) or Component Function Check (7 INCH INFORMATION DISPLAY).

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

Check intermittent incident. Refer to Intermittent Incident.

NO>>

Proceed to Work flow (FULL TFT METER) or Work flow (7 INCH INFORMATION DISPLAY).
