EGR SENSOR C

(EGR Sensor "C" Circuit Range/Performance) 		Diagnosis condition After warming up, switch OFF the ignition every time the engine is stopped.
Signal (terminal) ―
Threshold When EGR volume control valve is fully closed or fully opened, sensor output is out of the specified range.
Diagnosis delay time 3 seonds or more

POSSIBLE CAUSE

EGR volume control valve failure (sensor failure, internal gear damage, valve movement is not smooth)

FAIL-SAFE

Fail safe mode Nissan Ariya Vehicle behavior
Traveling control mode Accelerator angle variation control

ECM controls the accelerator pedal depression speed to make it slower than actual speed. This causes a drop in accelerating performance and encourages the driver to repair malfunction.

NOTE:

ECM does not control the accelerator pedal releasing speed.
Device fix mode

  • This mode fixes the electric IVT control actuator and the EVT control solenoid valve in the reference position.

  • A control signals is not transmitted to the EGR volume control valve and the EGR volume control is deactivated.

DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE

PRECONDITIONING

If DTC Confirmation Procedure has been previously conducted, always perform the following procedure before conducting the next test.

  1. Turn ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds.

  2. Turn ignition switch ON.

  3. Turn ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds.

GO TO 2.

PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE

  1. Start the engine and warm it up to normal operating temperature.

  2. Stop the engine.

  3. Switch ON the ignition and wait at least 3 seconds.

Is the DTC detected?

YES>>

Proceed to DTC Diagnosis Procedure.

NO-1>>

To check malfunction symptom before repair: Refer to Intermittent Incident.

NO-2>>

Confirmation after repair: INSPECTION END

DTC Diagnosis Procedure

REPLACE EGR VOLUME CONTROL VALVE

Replace EGR volume control valve. Refer to Removal and Installation.
