Start the engine.
Perform “All DTC Reading” with CONSULT.
Check if the “C2580-45” is detected as the current malfunction in “Self Diagnostic Result” of “LASER/RADAR”.

Is “C2580-45” detected as the current malfunction?

YES>>

PERFORM DISTANCE SENSOR ALIGNMENT

Perform distance sensor alignment. Refer to Work Procedure.
Erase all self-diagnosis results with CONSULT.
Perform "All DTC Reading".

Check the contamination and foreign matter on the distance sensor area of the front bumper.

Does contamination or foreign materials adhere?

YES>>

Wipe out the contamination and foreign matter on the distance sensor area of the front bumper.

NO>>

GO TO 2.

VISUAL CHECK 2

Remove the front bumper. Refer to Removal and Installation .
Check distance sensor for contamination and foreign matter.

Does contamination or foreign matter adhere?

YES>>

Wipe out the contamination and foreign matter from the distance sensor.

NO>>

GO TO 3.

VISUAL CHECK 3

Check distance sensor for cracks and scratches.

Is it found?

YES>>

Replace the distance sensor. Refer to Removal and Installation.

NO>>

GO TO 4.

PERFORM RADAR ALIGNMENT

Adjust the radar alignment with CONSULT. Refer to Work Procedure.
Perform AEB system action test to check the operation status. Refer to Work Procedure.
Perform “All DTC Reading”.
Check the “C2582-97” is detected in “Self Diagnostic Result” of “LASER/RADAR”.

Is “C2582-97” detected?

YES>>

Replace the distance sensor. Refer to Removal and Installation.

NO>>

GO TO 5.

INTERVIEW

Ask if there is any trace of contamination or foreign materials adhering to the distance sensor area of the front bumper.
Ask if distance sensor area of the front bumper was frosted during driving or if Nissan Ariya vehicle was driven in snow.
Ask if distance sensor area of the front bumper was temporarily fogged. (Windshield glass may also tend to fog, etc.)

Is any of above conditions seen?

YES>>

Explain to the customer about the difference between the contamination detection function and the indication when the malfunction is detected and tell them “This is not malfunction”.

NO>>

Replace the distance sensor. Refer to Removal and Installation.

DTC Diagnosis Procedure

CHECK CONNECTOR

Ignition switch OFF.
Check the ethernet harness connectors and terminals of distance sensor and ADAS control unit 2 for damage or looseness.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

GO TO 2.

NO>>

Repair or replace the malfunction part, securely lock the harness connector.

PERFORM ALL DTC READING

Ignition switch ON.
Perform “All DTC Reading” with CONSULT.
Check if any DTCs of ethernet (DTC “C1F71-87”, “U2752-87” and/or “U2752-88”) are detected in “Self Diagnostic Result” of “ICC/ADAS 2”

Are any DTCs of ethernet detected?

YES>>

Replace the ADAS control unit 2 [(Refer to Removal and Installation (Without ProPILOT Assist 2.1) or System Description (With ProPILOT Assist 2.1)], and GO TO 3.

NO>>

Replace the ADAS control unit 2. Refer to Removal and Installation (Without ProPILOT Assist 2.1) or System Description (With ProPILOT Assist 2.1).

PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE-1

Erases all self-diagnosis results with CONSULT.
Perform DTC confirmation procedure again. Refer to DTC Description.

Is DTC “U275F-88” detected as the current malfunction?

YES>>

Replace the distance sensor (Refer to Removal and Installation), and GO TO 4.

NO>>

INSPECTION END

PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE-2

Erases all self-diagnosis results with CONSULT.
Perform DTC confirmation procedure again. Refer to DTC Description.

Is DTC “U275F-88” detected as the current malfunction?

YES>>

Replace the ethernet harness between distance sensor and ADAS control unit 2.

NO>>
