Component Function Check

CAUTION:

Before performing the diagnosis, check that the following are normal:

  • Rear seat heater RH

CHECK REAR SEAT HEATER SWITCH RH FUNCTION

  1. Start the engine.

  2. Check that rear seat heater switch RH indicator (Low, Mid, High) turns ON when operating rear seat heater switch RH.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

Rear seat heater switch RH function is OK.

NO>>

Refer to Diagnosis Procedure.

Diagnosis Procedure

CHECK REAR SEAT HEATER SWITCH RH POWER SUPPLY VOLTAGE

  1. Ignition switch OFF.

  2. Disconnect rear seat heater switch RH connector.

  3. Ignition switch ON.

  4. Check voltage between rear seat heater switch RH harness connector and ground.

    (Approx.)
    Rear seat heater switch RH
    Connector Terminal
    M202 5 Ground Battery voltage

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

GO TO 4.

NO>>

GO TO 2.

CHECK REAR SEAT HEATER SWITCH RH SIGNAL CIRCUIT (OPEN)

  1. Ignition switch OFF.

  2. Disconnect A/C switch assembly connector.

  3. Check continuity between rear seat heater switch RH harness connector and A/C switch assembly harness connector.

    M202 5 M84 2 Yes

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

GO TO 3.

NO>>

Repair the harness or connector.

CHECK REAR SEAT HEATER SWITCH RH SIGNAL CIRCUIT (SHORT TO GROUND)

Check continuity between rear seat heater switch RH harness connector and ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

Replace A/C switch assembly. Refer to Removal and Installation.

NO>>

Repair the harness or connector.

CHECK REAR SEAT HEATER SWITCH RH GROUND CIRCUIT (OPEN)

  1. Ignition switch OFF.

  2. Check continuity between rear seat heater switch RH harness connector and ground.

    Rear seat heater switch RH Continuity
    Connector Terminal
    M202 7 Ground Yes

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

GO TO 5.

NO>>

Repair the harness or connector.

CHECK REAR SEAT HEATER SWITCH RH

Check rear seat heater switch RH. Refer to Component Inspection.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

GO TO 6.

NO>>

Replace rear seat heater switch RH. Refer to Removal and Installation.

CHECK FUSE

Check that the following fuse is not blown (open):

Ignition switch power supply Fuse block (J/B) 65 5A

Is the fuse blown (open)?

YES>>

Replace the blown (open) fuse after repairing the affected circuit if a fuse is blown (open).

NO>>

GO TO 7.

CHECK REAR SEAT HEATER SWITCH RH INDICATOR POWER SUPPLY VOLTAGE

  1. Start the engine.

  2. Check voltage between rear seat heater switch RH harness connector and ground.

    M202 1 Ground Battery voltage

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

GO TO 8.

NO>>

Repair the harness or connector.

CHECK REAR SEAT HEATER SWITCH RH INDICATOR SIGNAL VOLTAGE

  1. Ignition switch OFF.

  2. Connect rear seat heater switch RH connector.

  3. Start the engine.

  4. Check voltage between rear seat heater switch RH harness connector and ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

GO TO 9.

NO>>

Repair the rear seat heater switch RH. Refer to Removal and Installation.

CHECK REAR SEAT HEATER SWITCH RH INDICATOR SIGNAL CIRCUIT (OPEN)

  1. Ignition switch OFF.

  2. Disconnect rear seat heater switch RH connector and A/C switch assembly connector.

  3. Check continuity between rear seat heater switch RH harness connector and A/C switch assembly harness connector.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

GO TO 10.

NO>>

Repair the harness or connector.

REPLACE A/C SWITCH ASSEMBLY

  1. Replace A/C switch assembly. Refer to Removal and Installation.

  2. Connect all connectors.

  3. Start the engine.

  4. Check that rear seat heater switch RH indicator (Low, Mid, High) turns ON when operating rear seat heater switch RH.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

Inspection End.

NO>>

Replace A/C amp. Refer to Removal and Installation.

Component Inspection

CHECK REAR SEAT HEATER SWITCH RH

  1. Ignition switch OFF.

  2. Disconnect rear seat heater switch RH connector.

  3. Check continuity between rear seat heater switch RH terminals.

YES>>
