IBS Battery Temp Sensor Failure (Open Circuit)

[IBS battery temp sensor failure (Open circuit)] 		Diagnosis condition

  • Ignition switch ON

  • Battery voltage: More than 11 V

  • LIN communication between 12V battery current sensor and IPDM E/R is normal.
Signal 12V battery current sensor
Threshold Current value is more than 500A or less than -1500A.
Diagnosis delay time 12 seconds

POSSIBLE CAUSE

  • Harness or connectors (The 12V battery current sensor circuit is open or shorted.)

  • 12V battery current sensor

FAIL-SAFE

DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE

PRECONDITIONING

If DTC Confirmation Procedure has been previously conducted, always perform the following procedure before conducting the next test.

  1. Ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds.

  2. Ignition switch ON.

  3. Ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds.

GO TO 2.

PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE

  1. Ignition switch ON.

  2. Check DTC.

Is DTC detected?

YES>>

Proceed to DTC Diagnosis Procedure.

NO-1>>

To check malfunction symptom before repair: Refer to Intermittent Incident.

NO-2>>

Confirmation after repair: INSPECTION END

DTC Diagnosis Procedure

CHECK 12V BATTERY CURRENT SENSOR CIRCUIT

Check 12V battery current sensor. Refer to Diagnosis Procedure.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

INSPECTION END

NO>>

Replace error-detected parts.
