[CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND] Diagnosis condition When A/C switch is ON
Signal (Terminal) Magnetic clutch ON signal
Threshold Magnetic clutch ON signal circuit has a shorted to ground
Diagnosis delay time 1 second or more

POSSIBLE CAUSE

  • Harness or connectors (magnetic clutch ON signal circuit is shorted to ground)

  • IPDM E/R

FAIL-SAFE

Inhibit A/C compressor (magnetic clutch) operation

DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE

PERFORM SELF DIAGNOSIS

CONSULT

  1. Start the engine.

  2. A/C switch ON.

  3. Select "Self diagnosis result" mode of "IPDM E/R".

  4. Check DTC.

Is DTC detected?

YES>>

Refer to Diagnosis Procedure.

NO-1>>

To check malfunction symptom before repair: Refer to Intermittent Incident.

NO-2>>

Confirmation after repair: Inspection End.

Diagnosis Procedure

CHECK MAGNETIC CLUTCH ON SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR SHORT

  1. Ignition switch OFF.

  2. Disconnect IPDM E/R connector and A/C compressor connector.

  3. Check continuity between IPDM E/R harness connectors and the ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

Replace IPDM E/R. Refer to Removal and Installation.

NO>>

Repair harness or connector.
