Removal and Installation
REMOVAL
NOTE:
Mass air flow sensor is removable without removing the air cleaner assembly.
Remove front grill cover. Refer to Removal and Installation.
Remove air duct (inlet) clip and remove air duct (inlet).
Remove engine cover. Refer to Removal and Installation.
Disconnect the hose and the electrical connector and then remove the resonator.
Disconnect purge control valve hose 2 from air duct. Refer to Removal and Installation.
Loosen clamp of air duct and remove air duct.
Disconnect the harness connector from the mass air flow sensor.
Separate the harness clamp for the mass air flow sensor from the air cleaner cover.
Remove mass air flow sensor from air cleaner cover, if necessary.
CAUTION:
Handle the mass air flow sensor with care:

Do not shock it.
-
Do not disassemble it.
-
Do not touch the internal sensor.
Remove air cleaner body bolt and remove air cleaner body together with air cleaner cover.
Release the clips (A) of air cleaner cover (1) and separate the air cleaner body and air cleaner cover if necessary.

INSTALLATION
Note the following, and install in the reverse order of removal.

When installing air cleaner assembly, make sure to align tabs (A) of air duct as shown.

If removed, align tab (B) of air duct with tab (A) on admission valve.

CAUTION:
If mass air flow sensor replaced, perform "AIR FUEL RATIO INITIAL LEARNING". Refer to Description.
Inspection
Inspect air duct assembly for cracks or tears.
If any damage is found, replace air duct assembly.
