[CAN comm err (VCR)] 		Diagnosis condition Ignition switch ON
Signal (terminal) CAN communication signal
Threshold ECM is not receiving CAN communication signal other than OBD (emission related diagnosis).
Diagnosis delay time 30 seconds or more

POSSIBLE CAUSE

  • Harness or connectors (CAN communication line is open or shorted)

  • VCR control module

FAIL-SAFE

Not applicable

DTC Confirmation Procedure

CHECK DTC PRIORITY

If DTC U2385 is displayed with DTC P0607, first perform the confirmation procedure (trouble diagnosis) for DTC P0607.

Is DTC P0607 detected?

YES>>

Proceed to DTC Description.

NO>>

GO TO 2.

PRECONDITIONING

If DTC Confirmation Procedure has been previously conducted, always perform the following procedure before conducting the next test.

  1. Ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds.

  2. Ignition switch ON.

  3. Ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds.

TESTING CONDITION:

Before performing the following procedure, confirm that battery voltage is more than 11 V at idle.

GO TO 3.

PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE

  1. Ignition switch ON and wait at least 3 seconds.

  2. Check the DTC.

Is DTC U2385 detected?

YES>>

Proceed to Diagnosis Procedure.

NO-1>>

To check malfunction symptom before repair: Refer to Intermittent Incident.

NO-2>>

Confirmation after repair: INSPECTION END

Diagnosis Procedure

CHECK DTC PRIORITY

If DTC U2385 is displayed with DTC P0607, first perform the confirmation procedure (trouble diagnosis) for DTC P0607.

Is DTC P0607 detected?

YES>>

Proceed to DTC Description.

NO>>

Perform the trouble diagnosis for CAN communication system. Refer to Trouble Diagnosis Flow Chart.
