Lost communication with ECM in secondary ECU

(Lost communication with ECM in secondary ECU ) 		Diagnosis condition Ignition switch ON
Signal (terminal) CAN communication signal
Threshold eVTC is not receiving CAN communication signal with ECM
Diagnosis delay time 2 seconds or more

POSSIBLE CAUSE

CAN communication line between eVTC and ECM( CAN communication line is open or short)

FAIL-SAFE

Engine Control System

Stop/Start System

Not applicable

DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE

CHECK DTC PRIORITY

If DTC U1CF8 is displayed with DTC U2384, first perform the confirmation procedure (trouble diagnosis) for DTC U2384.

Is DTC U2384 detected?

YES>>

Proceed to DTC Description.

NO>>

GO TO 2.

PRECONDITIONING

If DTC Confirmation Procedure has been previously conducted, always perform the following procedure before conducting the next test.

  1. Ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds.

  2. Ignition switch ON.

  3. Ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds.

TESTING CONDITION:

Before performing the following procedure, confirm that battery voltage is 11 V or more at idle.

GO TO 3.

PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE

  1. Ignition switch ON and wait at least 3 seconds.

  2. Check 1st trip DTC.

Is DTC U1CF8 detected?

YES>>

Proceed to DTC Diagnosis Procedure.

NO-1>>

To check malfunction symptom before repair: Refer to Intermittent Incident.

NO-2>>

Confirmation after repair: INSPECTION END

DTC Diagnosis Procedure

CHECK DTC PRIORITY

If DTC U1CF8 is displayed with other DTC, first perform the confirmation procedure (trouble diagnosis) for other DTC.

Is applicable DTC detected?

YES>>

Perform diagnosis of applicable. Refer to DTC Index.

NO>>

Perform the trouble diagnosis for CAN communication system. Refer to Trouble Diagnosis Flow Chart.
