Signal (terminal) CAN communication signal
Threshold ECM cannot receive a communication signal sent from the VCR control module
Diagnosis delay time —

POSSIBLE CAUSE

  • Harness and connectors (CAN communication line is open or shorted.)

  • ECM

  • VCR control module

FAIL-SAFE

Not applicable

DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE

PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE

  1. Turn ignition switch ON.

  2. Check 1st trip DTC.

Is DTC U10A0 detected?

YES>>

Refer to DTC Diagnosis Procedure.

NO-1>>

To check malfunction symptom before repair: Refer to Intermittent Incident.

NO-2>>

Confirmation after repair: INSPECTION END

DTC Diagnosis Procedure

CHECK VCR CONTROL MODULE POWER SUPPLY

  1. Turn ignition switch OFF.

  2. Disconnect VCR control module harness connector.

  3. Check the voltage between VCR control module harness connector and ground.

    + − Voltage
    VCR control module
    Connector Terminal
    F108 5 Ground Battery voltage

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

GO TO 3

NO>>

GO TO 2

CHECK FUSE

Pull out 30A fuse (No.AA) from fuse and fusible link block.

Is the fuse blown (open)?

YES>>

Replace the fuse after repairing the applicable circuit.

NO>>

Perform trouble diagnosis for power supply.

CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION CIRCUIT

  1. Disconnect ECM harness connector.

  2. Disconnect VCR control module harness connector.

  3. Check the continuity between ECM harness connector and VCR control module harness connector.

  4. Check harness for short to ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

GO TO 4.

NO>>

Repair or replace error-detected parts.

REPLACE VCR CONTROL MODULE

  1. Replace VCR control module.

  2. Perform DTC Confirmation Procedure again. Refer to DTC Description.

Is the DTC U10A0 displayed again?

YES>>

Replace VCR control module.

NO>>

INSPECTION END
