DTC DETECTION LOGIC

Sub starter & generator

(Sub starter & generator) 		Diagnosis condition Engine running at idle
Signal (terminal) CAN communication signal
Threshold The voltage value transmitted IPDM E/R and the battery voltage value measured by sub starter & generator are different of 0.8 V or more
Diagnosis delay time 15 seconds or more

POSSIBLE CAUSE

  • IPDM E/R

  • Sub starter & generator

  • CAN communication circuit

  • Harness or connectors (12V battery voltage circuits is open or short circuit)

FAIL-SAFE

Engine Control System

Not applicable

Stop/Start System

When a DTC is detected, the stop/start indicator lamp blinks slowly and the stop/start system operation is prohibited. When ECM detects error while operating the stop/start system, ECM restarts the engine.

DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE

PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE

CONSULT

  1. Start the engine and let it idle and wait for 15 second or more.

  2. Perform “Self Diagnostic Result” mode of “ECM”.

Is DTC detected?

YES>>

Refer to Diagnosis Procedure.

NO-1>>

To check malfunction symptom before repair: Refer to Intermittent Incident.

NO-2>>

Confirmation after repair: Inspection end.

Diagnosis Procedure

CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION CIRCUIT

Perform the trouble diagnosis for CAN communication system. Refer to Trouble Diagnosis Flow Chart.

Is inspection result normal?

YES>>

GO TO 2.

NO>>

Repair or replace error-detected parts.

CHECK DTC WITH SUB STARTER & GENERATOR

Check DTC with sub starter & generator. Refer to CONSULT Function (SUB STARTER & GENERATOR).

Is DTC C1C91-17 detected?

YES>>

GO TO 3.

NO>>

Repair or replace error-detected parts.

CHECK SUB STARTER & GENERATOR CIRCIT

Check sub starter & generator circit. Refer to Diagnosis Procedure.

Is inspection result normal?

YES>>

INSPECTION END

NO>>

Repair or replace error-detected parts.
