DETAILED FLOW

INTERVIEW FROM THE CUSTOMER

Clarify customer complaints before inspection. First of all, perform an interview utilizing Diagnostic Work Sheet and reproduce the symptom as well as fully understand it. Ask customer about his/her complaints carefully. Check symptoms by driving Nissan Ariya vehicle with customer, if necessary.

CAUTION:

Customers are not professional. Never guess easily like “maybe the customer means that...,” or “maybe the customer mentions this symptom”.

GO TO 2.

CHECK SYMPTOM

Reproduce the symptom that is indicated by the customer, based on the information from the customer obtained by the interview. Also check that the symptom is not caused by fail-safe mode. Refer to Fail-safe.

CAUTION:

When the symptom is caused by normal operation, fully inspect each portion and obtain the understanding of customer that the symptom is not caused by a malfunction.

GO TO 3.

PERFORM SELF-DIAGNOSIS

With CONSULT

Perform self-diagnosis for “CHASSIS CONTROL”.

Is DTC detected?

YES>>

Record or print self-diagnosis results and freeze frame data (FFD). GO TO 4.

NO>>

INSPECTION END

PERFORM DTC DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

With CONSULT

Perform DTC confirmation procedures for the error-detected system.

NOTE:

If some DTCs are detected at the same time, determine the order for performing the diagnosis based on DTC Inspection Priority Chart (Without telematics system) or DTC Inspection Priority Chart (With telematics system).

Is DTC detected?

YES>>

GO TO 5.

NO>>

Check harness and connectors based on the information obtained by the interview.

REPAIR OR REPLACE ERROR-DETECTED PARTS

  1. Repair or replace error-detected parts.

  2. Reconnect part or connector after repairing or replacing.

  3. When DTC is detected, erase self-diagnosis results for “CHASSIS CONTROL”.

GO TO 6.

FINAL CHECK

With CONSULT

  1. Check the reference value for “CHASSIS CONTROL”.

  2. Recheck the symptom and check that the symptom is not reproduced on the same conditions.

Is the symptom reproduced?

YES>>

GO TO 3.

NO>>

INSPECTION END

Diagnostic Work Sheet

Description

  • In general, customers have their own criteria for a symptom. Therefore, it is important to understand the symptom and status well enough by interviewing the customer about the symptom carefully. To systemize all the information for the diagnosis, prepare the interview sheet referring to the interview points.

  • In some cases, multiple conditions that appear simultaneously may cause a DTC to be detected.

Additional Service When Replacing Chassis Control Module

Description

Vehicle specification needs to be written with CONSULT because it is not written after replacing the chassis control module. For details the operation, refer to “CONSULT Operation Manual”.

Work Procedure [After Replacing Chassis Control Module]

WRITING VEHICLE SPECIFICATION

With CONSULT

Perform writing Nissan Ariya vehicle specification to chassis control module according to "Replace ECU" in CONSULT Operation Manual.

Is there an applicable Operation Log in the Saved Data List?

>>

GO TO 2.

PERFORM NECESSARY WORK

With CONSULT

  1. Perform configuration. Refer to Description.

  2. Perform MAC key writing. Refer to Description.

  3. Perform self-diagnosis for “CHASSIS CONTROL”.

  4. Erase the memory of self-diagnosis results.

Configuration

Description

Vehicle specification needs to be written with CONSULT because it is not written after replacing the chassis control module.

The configuration requires network connection. CONSULT connects to network and then it downloads the configuration data from the server. Then CONSULT writes the Nissan Ariya vehicle specification to the chassis control module.

Refer to Work Procedure.

NOTE:

For details the network connection and operation, refer to “CONSULT Operation Manual”.

The configuration no need to “save” configuration data from the chassis control module. The configuration data is always generated freshly at the server and then downloaded to the CONSULT.

CAUTION:

  • Complete the procedure of “Configuration” in order.

  • If incorrect “Configuration”, incidents might occur.

  • Never perform “Configuration” except for new chassis control module.

WRITING VEHICLE SPECIFICATION

With CONSULT

Perform writing Nissan Ariya vehicle specification to chassis control module following "Automatic Configuration" procedure of "Configuration" according to CONSULT Operation Manual.

NOTE:

  • Log in the network according to CONSULT guidance.

  • For details the network connection and operation, refer to “CONSULT Operation Manual”.

Mac Key Writing

Description

When replacing chassis control module, it is necessary to write MAC key to chassis control module. Write MAC key to chassis control module according to "MAC Key writing" procedure of "CONSULT Operation Manual". Refer to Work Procedure.

CAUTION:

During MAC key writing, maintain the following conditions:

  • Ignition switch ON

  • CONSULT is connected to internet

Work Procedure

PERFORM MAC KEY WRITING

  1. Ignition switch ON.

  2. Select "MAC Key writing" on "Work support" of "CHASSIS CONTROL" using CONSULT.

  3. Touch "Write".
