EXH/V TIM CONT-B1

(“B” Camshaft position - timing over-advanced or system performance bank 1)
Diagnosis condition
  • Engine speed: 1,000 – 6,000 rpm

  • Engine coolant temperature: 50 – 120°C (122 – 248°F)

Signal (terminal) Exhaust camshaft position sensor signal
Threshold During the advanced control of exhaust valve timing control, the angle difference between actual angle and target angle is 13 degrees or more
Diagnosis delay time 6 seconds or more

POSSIBLE CAUSE

  • Crankshaft position sensor

  • Exhaust camshaft position sensor

  • Exhaust valve timing control solenoid valve

  • Accumulation of debris to the signal plate of the camshaft

  • Timing chain installation

  • Foreign matter caught in the oil groove for exhaust valve timing control

FAIL-SAFE

Engine Control System

Fail safe mode Nissan Ariya Vehicle behavior
Device fix mode
  • This mode fixes the electric IVT control actuator and the EVT control solenoid valve in the reference position.

  • A control signals is not transmitted to the EGR volume control valve and the EGR volume control is deactivated.

Stop/Start System

When a DTC is detected, the stop/start indicator lamp blinks slowly and the stop/start system operation is prohibited.

When ECM detects error while operating the stop/start system, ECM restarts the engine.
