Diagnosis Procedure

CHECK CAN DIAGNOSIS

Check the "Network Diagnosis" results from CONSULT to see that the diagnostic CAN communication circuit have no malfunction.

Are the diagnostic CAN communication circuit normal?

GO TO 2.

Check and repair diagnostic CAN communication circuit.

CONNECTOR INSPECTION

1. Ignition switch OFF.

2. Disconnect the battery cable from the negative terminal.

3. Disconnect all the control unit connectors on chassis CAN communication 6 circuit.

4. Check the terminals and connectors for damage, bend and loose connection.

Is the inspection result normal?

GO TO 3.

Repair the terminal and connector.

CHECK HARNESS CONTINUITY (OPEN CIRCUIT)

Check the continuity between the 8CH CAN gateway harness connector and chassis control module harness connector.

Is the inspection result normal?

GO TO 4.

Check the harness and repair or replace the root cause.

CHECK HARNESS CONTINUITY (SHORT CIRCUIT)

Check the continuity between the 8CH CAN gateway harness connector terminals.

Is the inspection result normal?

GO TO 5.

Check the harness and repair or replace the root cause.

CHECK HARNESS CONTINUITY (SHORT CIRCUIT)

Check the continuity between the 8CH CAN gateway and the ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

GO TO 6.

Check the harness and repair or replace (if shield line is short) the root cause.

CHECK 8CH CAN GATEWAY AND CHASSIS CONTROL MODULE TERMINATION CIRCUIT

1. Remove the 8CH CAN gateway and the chassis control module.

2. Check the resistance between the 8CH CAN gateway terminals.

3. Check the resistance between the chassis control module terminals.

   Chassis control module		Resistance (Ω)
   Terminal No.
   10	26	Approx. 108 – 132

Is the measurement value within the specification?

GO TO 7.

Replace the 8CH CAN gateway and/or the chassis control unit.

• Chassis control unit: Removal and Installation

CHECK SYMPTOM

Connect all the connectors. Check if the symptoms described in the “Symptom (Results from interview with customer)” are reproduced.

Inspection result

GO TO 8.

Start the diagnosis again. Follow the trouble diagnosis procedure when past error is detected.

CHECK UNIT REPRODUCTION

Perform the reproduction test as per the following procedure for each unit.

1. Ignition switch OFF.

2. Disconnect the battery cable from the negative terminal.

3. Disconnect one of the unit connectors of chassis CAN communication 6 circuit.

   NOTE:

   8CH CAN gateway and chassis control module have a termination circuits. Check other units first.

4. Connect the battery cable to the negative terminal. Check if the symptoms described in the “Symptom (Results from interview with customer)” are reproduced.

   NOTE:

   Although unit-related error symptoms occur, do not confuse them with other symptoms.

Inspection result

Connect the connector. Check other units as per the above procedure.

Replace the unit whose connector was disconnected.
